MLB The Show 24, one of the most anticipated sports games of 2024, is finally here! This year's title aims to deliver the most realistic baseball experience ever, and it tries to do that by introducing some unique features.
Having been a Sony exclusive for years, MLB The Show has found a home on Xbox as well, making it one of the best sports titles on either platform year in and year out.

MLB The Show 24 release date
MLB The Show games have been released earlier and earlier over the last few years. 21 was released on 20 April, and 23 came out on 28 March.
MLB The Show 24 continued that tradition, with the game being officially released on 19 March, a little bit over a week before the MLB season Opening Day, which is set for 28 March.

MLB The Show 24 was released for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch.
Unfortunately, to the disappointment of many players, this isn't the year where the game comes to PC. The franchise never had a PC release and it doesn't seem there are plans for one anytime soon.
MLB The Show 24 editions
There are a total of four MLB The Show 24 editions, Standart, MVP, Digital Deluxe and Negro Leagues, with each one having a unique cover, price and rewards.

Standard Edition
The Standard Edition is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. This edition costs $59.99 for the last-gen consoles, and $69.99 for the current-gen ones.
The pre-order bonus for this edition is different for last-gen consoles or current-gen ones, with the current-gen pre-order offering much better rewards.

This edition might have an incredibly high price, but it makes up for it by including a plethora of great rewards. It's the perfect edition for someone who wants to be competitive on Diamond Dynasty from day one, as it gives them a significant edge over their opponents.

The face of MLB The Show 24 is none other than the home run derby king himself, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
The Toronto Blue Jays superstar had a decent 2023 season and was rewarded with the MLB The Show 24 cover.
Most players weren't expecting to see Vladimir Guerrero Jr gracing the cover of MLB The Show 24.
The community is split in the middle about this cover star decision, with some agreeing with it, while many think players such as Ronald Acuña Jr or Mookie Betts are more deserving of being on the cover.
Negro Leagues Season 2
The popular Negro Leagues game mode is back in MLB The Show 24 and it introduces some new faces.
Season 2 of the Negro Leagues once again allows players to relive history, as they step into the shoes of some of the biggest legends of the league such as Hank Aaron, Josh Gibson, Buck Leonard and Toni Stone.
Players can relive the story of these heroes of the game, as well as unlock plenty of rewards such as cards, stadiums, bats and jerseys, among others.
New RTTS and Franchise features
MLB The Show 24 introduced some huge features coming to RTTS and Franchise mode.
Defensive Impact Plays arrived at RTTS, while the option to add your ballplayer to Diamond Dynasty has been removed.
When it comes to Franchise, the mode has a plethora of improvements and new features. The prospect draft logic was significantly improved while the PPI feature was introduced.
