Splitgate Next-Gen: PS5 and Xbox Series X Version Being Tested

Splitgate has come an awfully long way over the last few years. Starting unpolished but with a great idea, the team has spent years making the game the best it can possibly be. Alongside this came new funding, seasonal challenges and tonnes of other reasons to come back. In a recent tweet, we received even more reasons to come back to the game. Here's what we know about the next-gen version of Splitgate.

Season 1 Release Date

As you may know if you've played Splitgate recently, we're currently in the middle of SPlitgate Season 0. Starting near the end o August, we have a few months of challenges ahead of us.

This means the current season should likely end around the middle of November. At some point near the end of November / start of December is when we think Season 1 will launch. It seems likely that the plans are to try and get the next-gen version of Splitgate out for this day, alongside some other surprises.

Splitgate Next-Gen Version

In a recent tweet, a user asked the team when we will finally see the next-gen version. They responded with:

"Next-gen version won't be in this update, but we can say that it's currently in testing and development"

This is exciting news, hinting at plans for the future of the game.

What does this mean?

It being in testing and development effectively means it's at the end stage of production. They will have a team of testers going in to solve any bug and just make sure its the best version of the game it can be.

On the back of this news, a next-gen release around December seems likely. Hopefully, testing goes smoothly and the game is in a good state right now. We will update you here if anything changes.
