Skarbrand, The Exiled One, Greater Daemon of Khorne the Blood God, may very well be a playable Legendary Lord in Total War: Warhammer 3, if a leaked image is to be believed.
As with all leaks, this tidbit should be considered with a heaping handful of salt, but Skarbrand's inclusion in the game would make a whole lot of sense.
Skarbrand in Total War: Warhammer 3
For those new to the series, a Legendary Lord is one of several playable characters for a given faction, each of which offers unique bonus or troop types. This means that, by selecting a different Legendary Lord, a player is able to play the same faction in a (sometimes radically) different way.
Skarbrand is an ancient Bloodthirster, a Greater Daemon of Khorne.
We know that there will be a Khornite faction (daemon's and corrupted mortals sworn to the service of the Blood God), and thus Skarbrand would be a logical choice for a Legendary Lord.
This speculation comes to us by way of the website Bell of Lost Souls and from this Reddit thread, after a data-mined image from the depths of the Steam files associated with Warhammer 3 was uncovered.
While a single image might not seem like a smoking gun on its face, fans familiar with the world of Warhammer and lore will recognise Skarbrand.
A named Greater Daemon (with an official miniature, no less) has a pretty good chance of appearing as a Legendary Lord, given that there aren't loads of them in the first place!
What mechanics might be unique to Skarbrand is anyone's guess, but playstyle is virtually guaranteed to be incredibly offensive. Considering the Blood God's servants propensity for shedding, well, blood, that's a virtual given.
We will have a while to wait before receiving official confirmation of Skarbrand's inclusion, but it would be more surprising if he wasn't a playable Legendary Lord in Total War: Warhammer 3.
