Age of Empires 4 release date may be closer than you think

Age of Empires has a long and storied history in the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre, and the next step will be massive with Age of Empires 4.

Whether you're a fan of history, a strategic challenge, or the RTS genre, it could be the biggest release of the year for you.

Release Date

As previously mentioned, Age of Empires 4 will be coming out on October 28 this year. For pre-orders, they are now available on Xbox Game Pass and Steam, and the game will be on the following platforms: Xbox Game Pass for PC, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Windows 10, and Steam.

So how do you sign-up for the Age of Empires 4 Closed Beta?

If you have not yet registered as an Age Insider:

• Sign-up as an Age Insider with an Xbox Live account and agree to the NDA
• Choose-back-up

If you have encounter any issues signing up, you can contact Customer Support.

If you are already an Age Insider, here's the next steps to follow:

• Check your Age Insider Profile to ensure you have uploaded an up-to-date DxDiag - We use this to determine your machine's technical specifications
• While on your Age Insider Profile, double-check that you are opted-in to opportunities on one or more platforms

If you want to be considered for the Steam platform, you will need to link your Steam account from that page

• Finally, review your Insider Settings to reflect your current playstyles and interests
• Preferences like platform and playstyles are considered, though they may invite you to additional opportunities to see if you are interested.

Pre Order

You can now head on over to Xbox Game Pass and Steam to get your Age of Empires 4 preorder in.

With Xbox Game Pass, you can pre-order Age of Empires 4 and get the Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition expansion "Dawn of the Dukes" as a free extra in August 2021 for $45.

The same rates are available in Steam, with the Standard version available for $45 and Deluxe for $60.
