When will Madden 23 be on EA Play and Xbox Game Pass?

While many players have already had the chance to dive into Madden 23, others are keeping an eye out for when it hits EA Play.

Here's everything we know so far about when Madden 23 is expected to land on EA Play as well as Xbox Game Pass.

When will Madden 23 be on EA Play?

The official Madden 23 release date was August 19, 2022, and since arriving many fans have been blown away by the gameplay upgrades with FieldSENSE.

However, other flaws haven't been enough to convince some to shell out the $60+ for the full title, and at this point you may just be waiting for it to be free via EA Play.

Available as its own subscription service or packaged with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, EA Play gives subscribers access to a large array of titles from EA.

While Madden 23 opted out of a day one arrival like MLB The Show has gotten used to, that doesn't mean the title will stay off these services forever.

In the last few years, they've gotten to be pretty consistent about putting all the major sports franchise releases on EA Play including Madden, FIFA, and NHL.

The standard for EA Play arrival has tended to be about six months after launch, as Madden 22 hit EA Play on Thursday, February 17, 2022 after being released on August 20, 2021.

As such, we expect Madden 23 to hit EA Play on Thursday, February 16, 2023, which would align well with the end of the NFL season as Super Bowl LVII is scheduled for Sunday, February 12, 2023.

Madden 23 EA Play Trial is available now

If you're already an EA Play (or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate) subscriber and want to give Madden 23 a shot before then, the trial is still available.

Subscribers can download the Madden 23 EA Play Trial on any platform for free, but the only catch is it's time limited.

You'll have full access to every game mode in Madden 23, but it is locked at 10 hours, so players who want to keep playing after that time expires will have to purchase the full game.

With major gameplay changes this year and mixed opinions on upgrades to other game modes, the EA Play Trial is the best way to help you decide if Madden 23 is worth grabbing now or something you'd prefer to wait and play later.
