Madden 22 download size will require plenty of free space

Madden 22 is set to release an EA Play Trial in hours, and it'll only be a few more days after that when we see the Early Access and worldwide launch.

Madden 22 File Size: Make room before you download

It's become relatively standard to expect sports games to arrive with a massive file size, and that's likely fueled by a combination of the many game modes provided and the sheer volume of players included in the game.

With Madden 22 just hours away from the trial and not far off from launch, it's looking like you'll definitely need to make some room for its arrival.

The most concrete indication we have of the Madden 22 file size comes from the reliable PlayStation Game Size account on Twitter.

As of late last month, they're showing a listing on PS5 with a file size of 51.274 GB, which is actually lower than we were anticipating, but it's worth noting this is without the Day One Patch which could be nearly as big on its own.

When the Madden 22 beta was released on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, it came in at a whopping 70 GB.

While it could have had extra features taking up space that were meant to prevent recording or capture data used to improve the game before launch, it's surprising that the next gen version of Madden 22 could be a full 20 GB smaller.

We don't yet have an official file size on PS4 or either Xbox system, but it's likely to be similar to the PS5 download, though potentially could be as large as the beta file.

We'll add more details here once we have them, including the file size for the Day One Patch that is expected to release along with Madden 22.

Madden 22 PC Requirements & Storage Space Needed

The PS5 mark also lines up with what we're seeing on Steam and the EA website, which currently lists 50 GB of hard drive space in the PC requirements for Madden 22.

Madden 22 goes live with an EA Play Trial (or via EA Play Pro on PC for those with the Dynasty Edition) on August 12, 2021.

The full game is then set for an Early Access launch on August 17 for anyone who chose to pre order the MVP Edition or Dynasty Edition, with the Standard Edition launching worldwide on August 20.
