Madden 22 looks to focus on Next Gen consoles, which is music to the ears of Xbox Series X|S owners.

As always, EA made sure to throw in some extra perks for players on these groundbreaking consoles, with most of the new gameplay features exclusive to next gen.

Madden 22 is finally in the hands of all players now that the Standard Edition is live, and that means the fun can really begin.

Those that pre ordered the MVP Edition or Dynasty Edition got a head start, but the playing field is finally even.

Price for Standard Edition on Xbox Series X|S

Those that were expecting a big jump in pricing for Madden 22 on Next Gen consoles can rest easy. The Standard Edition price for Madden 22 on Xbox Series X|S is just $69.99.

Of course, for the two special editions of the game, the prices shoot up, but still mirror the current gen price. This is great news for Next Gen players who thought they would get charged significantly more for having newer consoles.

Last year's Madden 21 gameplay trailer was also followed a few days later by a dual-trailer with FIFA 21 at EA Play Live that specifically hyped the launch of those two titles on next-gen consoles.

While they did each eventually hit PS5 and Xbox Series X, the next-gen releases came in December, roughly a month after those next-gen consoles launched.

Release Date on Xbox Series X|S

The official release date for Madden 22 is Friday, 20 August, but you could have got the game on Tuesday, 17 August if you pre-ordered the MVP Edition.

DROP BACK: When can fans expect to play Madden 22?

While last year's Madden 21 originally came out for PS4 and Xbox One, the next gen versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S hit in December of 2020.

We won't see that delay this year, as EA Sports will release everything at once.

Last year, they left Next Gen players wanting more. With only some changes in the play-calling style and tweaks to stats during replays, Madden 21 didn't deliver much past that.

With no gap between their usual release date and the release of the next gen consoles themselves, expect EA Sports to live up to their Next Gen Madden promises with Madden 22.
