FIFA 23 - Should I sell my team before Team of the Year?

As 2022 comes approaches its end, FIFA 23's Team of the Year (TOTY) promo is on its way into Ultimate Team.

Each year, FUT players save hundreds of packs for the release of the entire Team of the Year squad and each year the market crashes due to the number of packs being opened at the same time.

So, find out what you should do with your FIFA 23 squad ahead of the market crash below.

Should I sell my team before TOTY?

There will likely be two Transfer Market crashes in January 2023 due to the Team of the Year campaign.

We predict the first one will occur a few days before the release of the TOTY promo as FUT players panic because of an expected oversupply.

This panic selling often results in a market crash due to a spike in the supply of cards on the market.

It’s worth noting that a fear-based market crash isn’t as bad as an oversupply-based market crash.

CRASH INCOMING - It's time to get ahead of the game and sell your high-value items

The second market crash will occur when all of the Team of the Year cards are released into packs. This one will be an oversupply-based crash, as most Ultimate Team users will save all of their packs for this time.

In light of this, it would be wise to sell your team in the build-up to the TOTY promo in order to avoid taking a big hit when the market crash occurs.

In the meantime, you can use cheap cards around your untradeable items to play your Weekend League and Division Rivals games up until the TOTY event.

How to make a profit during a market crash

For the most part, your coins remain intact during a market crash.

In fact, your coins will actually hold a greater value as you will be able to acquire players for less than they cost before.

It is wise to sell your high-value cards ahead of the market crash and use the coins to purchase a large number of certain cards when prices are at their lowest during the crash.

All you need to do is hold onto those cards and sell them for a significant profit when they bounce back to their normal prices.
