RTTF Release Date

The Road to the Final promo started on Friday, 17 February, at the usual time of 1pm ET / 6pm GMT.

It dropped on the same week that European competitions resumed with the knockout rounds, with the first matches played on Tuesday, 14 February.

A Mini-Release followed on Sunday, 19 February, with all the cards set to rotate out of packs on Friday, 24 January, when the Showdown Series will return to FUT.

Road to the Final

Road to the Final is an annual event in Ultimate Team, so we knew what to expect from it, especially as it is similar to the Road to the Knockouts promo from earlier in FIFA 23.

Selected players from the teams who have made it to the knockout stages of the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League will be handed live cards, which will be upgraded depending on how far their team goes in the competition.

Of course, the usual boosted players will be released into Packs and come via SBCs and Objectives, with a total of 30 cards coming during FUT 22!

To make the event even bigger, new themed Puzzle SBCs and Objectives will be coming on a daily basis and UEFA Man of the Match Player Items will be released to commemorate the best performances of this year’s knockout stages.

Upgrade Path Explained

Road to the Final players in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team are live cards that will upgrade as they progress deeper into the competition, with a slight change coming this year.

There may be less progression to ratings this time, but new Traits and increased Weak Foot and Skill Moves will be awarded instead.

The upgrade path is as follows:

  • Win the first knockout game after the campaign launch (UCL) / Qualify for Round of 16: +1 IF Upgrade
  • Qualify for the Quarter Finals: +1 IF Upgrade
  • Qualify for the Semi Finals: +1 IF Upgrade and Three New Traits
  • Qualify for the Final: Gain 5* Weak Foot
  • Win the Final: +1 IF Upgrade and 5* Skill Moves

It should be noted that games that take place before the campaign launch will not be counted towards an upgrade, so that will disqualify all the first legs of knockout matches.

Upgrades will go live at the end of each week of a given stage, so this will take effect in FUT 23 on the following dates:

  • Friday, 24 February
  • Friday, 17 March
  • Friday, 21 April
  • Friday, 19 May
  • Monday, 12 June

Road to the Final Rewind

The Road to the Final event is set to be bigger than ever in FUT 23, with RTTF Rewind a mini-event within the promo.

As stated on the official EA website, these will be:

Special Player Items to celebrate knockout shocks and comebacks from European nights past as both SBCs and Objectives.

That means we could see the likes of Divock Origi or Marcus Rashford included, likely coming as Flashback cards in recognition of their parts played in some of the great European stories.

RTTF Leaks

All the Road to the Final leaks so far have proven to be true, so now we just have to wait until more come out!

This section will be updated as soon as we spot any more leaked players, which will likely come via Flashback SBCs.
