FIFA 23: 50+ NEW face scans added

FIFA 23 is deep into its cycle, but that doesn't mean new content has stopped.

New promos are rolling in thick and fast, and now a major update for the game is set to bring more new content than ever.

Not only will an entirely new league be added to the game, but over 50 new face scans have also been added to the code.

New Face Scans

As part of the next major title update in FIFA 23, the entirety of the NWSL - National Women's Soccer League - is being added into FIFA 23.

This addition has been a long time coming, with certain WSL sides added into the game this year.

NEW STARS - The NWSL is coming to FIFA 23

The NWSL is the major women's soccer league in America and has been steadily rising in popularity over the past few years.

Of course, with EA now boasting the technology to do so, a number of top NWSL stars will be fully authentic in the game, with over 50 new face scans set to be added to the game.

So far, we already know that stars like Alex Morgan and Sophia Smith will be fully authentic in the game, with ratings already confirmed for these titans of American Soccer.

FAMILIAR FACE - Alex Morgan is the star of the NWSL

As seen in leagues like the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and beyond, EA are doing their best to ensure that as many authentic face scans are featured in the game as possible, with this update potentially bringing as many as 70 new scans to the game.

It remains to be seen if any new scans will be added to the male stars of FIFA 23, with a recent update already bringing a host of changes to the game.

Women's football in FIFA 23

This year, Chelsea's Sam Kerr made history as the first female player to feature on a global FIFA cover.

Kerr was pictured next to Kylian Mbappe on the cover of the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23, as you can see below.

Women's club football arrived for the first time in FIFA 23, with the WSL and Div 1 Arkema featuring in this year's game.

EA previously provided the following statement:

"Play as women’s club teams for the first time in EA SPORTS FIFA history as the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and Division 1 Arkema come to FIFA 23 at launch. Plus, enjoy dedicated HyperMotion2 capture that powers the women’s game to make female players move authentically in FIFA 23. Gameplay - A new risk versus reward shooting mechanic, refreshed free kicks, penalties and corners, and more realistic physics bring the variety of football to The World's Game."
