FIFA 22 Serie A Managerial Masterpiece: Surprise the opponent with MEGA subs

One of the key skills you need to have in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team is squad building, whether that is assembling your best team, completing SBCs, or making a competitive team within restrictions.

The Managerial Masterpiece is back in friendlies, with objectives to complete in the Milestones section that awards you League Players.

We have assembled a Serie A team to complete the objectives for Serie A League Player Gregoire Defrel, which has a few surprises on the bench to change the game.

Managerial Masterpiece Requirements

First, let's take a look at the requirements that you need to meet for this game mode:

• Maximum team rating 77 OVR
• Maximum 1 player rated 88 OVR or higher
• Maximum 1 loan player
• No players rated 74 OVR or lower

Ionut Radu (OVR 75)

In goal there isn't much point in having a player with a high rating, so we've gone as low as we can with Ionut Radu.

Price:

Alvaro Odriozola (OVR 79)

It's a flat back four, with Alvaro Odriozola at right-back.

He has decent stats in pace, passing, dribbling and defending, so should be a solid choice without having too high a rating.

• Xbox – 1,400 coins

Giangiacomo Magnani (OVR 75)

The fastest 75-rated centre-back in the league, get in our squad, Giangiacomo Magnani.

Price:

• PlayStation – 1,500 coins
• Xbox – 2,000 coins

Roger Ibanez (OVR 77)

You'll have to drop a few more coins that you'd like for this 77 OVR CB, but you get what you pay for.

Roger Ibanez has 81 PAC, as well as decent defensive and physical stats, making him the best defender in the league with a low overall rating.

• Xbox – 7,300 coins

Ridgeciano Haps (OVR 76)

Ridgeciano Haps has the legs to get up and down the flank from left-back.

You'll want him attacking more often than not, as his defensive abilities aren't that great.

• Xbox – 1,800 coins

Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa (OVR 76)

We're using a midfield four set up as a wide diamond, with Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa playing as a CDM.

He is quite mobile, with good defending and physicality, so will be a great shield for the defence.

• Xbox – 1,500 coins

Caleb Ekuban (OVR 75)

At right-midfield, we have cheap pace provided by Caleb Ekuban.

With 86 Strength, he should be able to power past defenders and then swing some crosses into the box.

• Xbox – 1,400 coins

Darko Lazovic (OVR 76)

It's a similar choice at left-midfield, this time with Darko Lazovic being the cheap pace option.

He offers decent defending stats to cover when Haps pushes upfield, but will probably be the winger you look to take off for one of your super-subs...

• Xbox – 850 coins

Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro (OVR 75)

The attacking point of the diamond, Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro will probably be another player that won't spend much time on the field, due to better options on the bench.

Whilst he does play he can give the team good legs and a high work rate to get on the front foot.

You may even prefer to put him at CDM and take off Zambo Anguissa.

Keita Balde (OVR 76)

With 91 PAC, look to be slipping Keita Balde in behind the defence as often as possible.

He doesn't have the highest finishing around, but when you're through one-on-one finding the back of the net becomes an easier task.

• Xbox – 1,800 coins

Gianluca Caprari (OVR 75)

Another cheap placeholder, Gianluca Caprari will be coming off the pitch ASAP, so there's not much point in taking a longer look at him.

• Xbox – 650 coins

Super-Subs

By starting lower-rated players it allows you to put some bigger talent on the bench, as the overall rating of the team is weighted heavier towards the starters.

This means we have some big hitters to really make the difference.

The first is Marko Arnautovic's Rulebreakers card, which is an absolute beast.

Whatever situation you find yourself in, this man will find a way to get the ball in the net.

The second star who will make his way on from the bench at the first opportunity is FUT favourite, Paulo Dybala.

You could play him as a striker, but we prefer him as a CAM, where he can dictate play and also pop finesse shots in the top corner from the edge of the box.

The third noteworthy Serie A player on the bench is Hirving Lozano, who brings 93 PAC with him.

With one of the objectives being scoring a volley in four separate matches, use Lozano to get down the wing and drive in a cross.

The rest of your bench is then completed with any 75-rated players you like.

We have included a couple of Bundesliga players, Silas and Marius Wolf, as well as a La Liga player, Lago Junior, as they can be brought on to complete objectives for their league's respective tasks.
