The Shapeshifters promo has returned in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, taking over from the Team of the Season campaign.
It's a big act to follow, but with huge stars getting their base positions transformed, we have gained some weird and wonderful cards.
Take a look at who made the Shapeshifters Team 1 squad below.
Latest - Team 1 Mini-Release
Three more players joined the Shapeshifters Team 1 players in packs at the weekend, with Jack Grealish the main attraction in the Shapeshifters Team 1 mini-release.
Jack Grealish
The England international has moved from LW to a CAM and has also been switched to left-footed.
With 95 PAC, 93 SHO, 95 PAS and 97 DRI, Jack Grealish has all the qualities to be deadly in and around the box.
Andrew Robertson
Andrew Robertson has been converted to a CDM, becoming the second-best rated for the position in the Premier League.
His pace and physicality will make him very combative in the middle of the park, and you don't want to mess with a player that has 99 Aggression!
Everton
Clearly the weakest of the three new additions, Everton can still offer top dribbling and skills to your Ultimate Team.
He has been changed to a striker, although with 87 SHO, it's probably best to keep him out on the wing.
Team 1 is HERE
The fantastic Shapeshifters Team 1 squad has now been released!
11 players make up the main side, which is now available in packs.
As well as the main squad coming to packs, the following players have been released via objectives and SBC:
Here is a little run-down of all the players:
Lionel Messi
After missing out on the Ultimate TOTS, Lionel Messi headlines the first Shapeshifters squad.
In a repeat from the original Shapeshifters team in FIFA 20, his card has been adjusted to a CF instead of a RW.
Heung Min Son
Another moving from the wing to the centre of the pitch, Heung Min Son follows up his TOTS card with a Shapeshifters one.
This is even beefier than the TOTS version and will be deadly in front of goal.
Eden Hazard
Injuries may have hampered Eden Hazard's career, but nothing will hold him back from performing for your Ultimate Team.
Maximum dribbling will make him hard to defend against, so you can relieve some stellar moments from the high points of his career.
Alphonso Davies
Now, this is what the Shapeshifters promo is all about!
Alphonso Davies makes the move from LB to ST, with an absolutely incredible card.
Although listed as a striker, we think many will likely play him as a box-to-box midfielder.
Pierre-Emeric Aubameyang
Barca and Auba fans have finally got their wish, as Pierre-Emeric Aubameyang gets a massively boosted card.
Yet another man with maximum pace, five out of the 11 players are also as quick as they come.
Youcef Atal
No longer being held back by his RB position, Youcef Atal can really roam the pitch now.
Like Davies, all his base stats are 90+ and judging by his promo cards in FIFA 21, this will be one hell of a card.
Leonardo Spinazzola
A midfielder with maximum pace - tick!
Leonardo Spinazzola will be sweeping up loose balls all over the place in his new CDM position.
Pierre Kalulu
The compulsory French centre-back of the promo, Pierre Kalulu makes the short trip from RB to CB.
For anyone with a TOTS Theo Hernandez, this is your perfect partner.
Jeremiah St. Juste
An early meta fan favourite, Jeremiah St. Juste has found himself with a RW card.
He's got a bit of everything and looks like he would make a fantastic RM in a five-man midfield.
Nordi Mukiele
Another French CB?! EA, you are spoiling us!
Like Kalulu, Nordi Mukiele moves from the right of the defence into the centre, offering great pace and defensive abilities, as well as skill with the ball at his feet.
Hector Bellerin
From RB to LB, this new version of Hector Bellerin could help out massively if you're in need of a top La Liga left-back.
Surprisingly, he isn't one of the cards to have 99 PAC, but 97 ain't too bad!
Shapeshifters
The Shapeshifters promo was first seen in FIFA 20, although it didn't reappear in FIFA 21, so we already knew what sort of mechanics to expect.
As always, the promo players will receive massive boosts, but they will also have their cards transformed, with changes coming to player positions, work rates, weak foot ability, and updated attributes to better suit their new position.
A squad will be released into packs, with a couple of objective players made available when the event kicks off, as well as a few SBCs coming throughout the campaign.
Shapeshifters had two squad releases in FIFA 20, and with EA specifying that a "Shapeshifter Team #1 item" can be earned through the new Objective, it looks like we should see a two-week promo coming again this time.
Release Date
The Shapeshifters promo launched on Friday, 17 June at 1pm ET / 6pm BST - the same time that the Ultimate TOTS rotated out of packs.
In FIFA 20, the Shapeshifters promo ran for two weeks, so we could see that again, with Team 1 released initially, then Team 2 released on Friday, 24 June, and staying in packs for a further week, before rotating out on Friday, 1 July.
