FIFA 22: Aguero removed from FUT, Heroes or Icon card next?

Aguero, who recently departed the Premier League, swapped Man City for the Camp Nou at the end of last season after 10 years at the Etihad. He is unquestionably one of the greatest players to have performed in the Premier League era.

Aguero was sadly forced to retire at the age of just 33 due to a heart-related health issue detected while playing for Barcelona in October.

So, the question remains, what is next for Aguero in FIFA Ultimate Team?

Latest - Aguero removed from FUT 22

Following his unfortunate retirement, Sergio Aguero has seen his card removed from FIFA 22's Ultimate Team mode with immediate effect.

Could he return sooner rather than later with a Heroes or Icon card? @FUTCONCEPTS on Twitter certainly thinks so.

Living legend

Sergio Aguero scored the most iconic goal in Premier League history - three minutes and 20 seconds into stoppage time against Queens Park Rangers that sealed Manchester City's first title in 44 years.

Aguero managed to overtake Thierry Henry to become the highest-scoring non-English player in Premier League history, ending on 184 goals compared to the former Arsenal forward's 175.

Aguero also has the most Premier League hat-tricks in history, netting 12 which is one more than all-time PL leading goalscorer, Alan Shearer.

Aguero has the best minutes-per-goal ratio of any player who has scored more than 10 Premier League goals, with a goal every 108 minutes on average; Henry is second with a goal every 122 minutes.

Iconic figure

Many fans will believe that the legacy Aguero has left means the Argentine deserves to receive Icon status in FIFA Ultimate Team.

Aguero most certainly ranks amongst the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry, so it makes sense for him to be an Icon in FUT!

We think Sergio Aguero's Prime Icon version could be rated as a 92 OVR and look something like this card above.

We expect the Argentine to have four-star skill moves and a four-star weak foot, which, coupled with 94 shooting, 92 dribbling and 90 pace will make him insane in Ultimate Team!

End of an Era

EA may choose to hold off on an Icon card for Aguero until FIFA 23 arrives.

So, should Kun Aguero not arrive as an Icon in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, we could see an End of an Era SBC to celebrate the player in FUT.

EA did in fact release this End of an Era card for Aguero in FIFA 21 in order to recognise his time with Manchester City before he left the club.

We could see something similar released in FUT 22 but perhaps EVEN higher-rated than this 94 OVR card.

The ultimate hero

Now, as far as heroic moments go, it doesn't get much bigger than the most memorable goal in the history of the Premier League.

Aguero would no doubt receive a FUT Hero card for THAT goal against QPR on the final day of the 2012 season.

Aguero would no doubt be classed amongst the highest-rated FUT Heroes that are currently in the game.

So, we think this 90 OVR Hero card would be suitable for the Premier League legend and would most certainly be one that everybody would love to pack!
