As you probably know by now, the FIFA gaming franchise is no longer being developed by EA, with EA starting its own title, EA Sports FC 24.
FC 24 will effectively be the next title in the series, with all the same fan-favourite game modes, gameplay and licenses that we've come to expect over the years, only without the FIFA name.
Ever since the split between EA and FIFA took place, FUT fans have been speculating about what changes could be implemented to their beloved game mode.
Well, the FC 24 leaks are coming thick and fast now and it looks like EA is set to add a brand new Icon type to Ultimate Team this year.
This addition could be one of several changes that could revolutionise the game mode in FC 24.
New Icons inbound
We've seen plenty of rumours regarding women in FC 24 since EA recently dropped a reveal trailer that featured multiple women's clubs.
Now, it looks like women in FUT 24 will be getting even more attention.
According to the reliable Fut Sheriff on Twitter, women Icons will be coming to Ultimate Team in the new game.
This is unprecedented, of course, as we have never seen female players in Ultimate Team, let alone special items or Icon cards for women.
So far, we don't have any information on which players will be selected for women's Icon cards in FUT 24, but there are a few that immediately spring to mind.
Female Icon predictions
Whilst Marta Vieira da Silva is still in the process of forging her legacy, she is generally considered one of, if not the best female player of all time.
Marta, nicknamed “Pele in skirts” by the Brazilian master, can do it all. The Brazilian playmaker could be the highest-rated Icon on the roster.
Her personal accolades are remarkable, earning the Fifa female world player of the Year five consecutive times from 2006 to 2010.
Marta also won the Golden Ball and Golden Boot at the 2007 Women’s World Cup and is the competition’s all-time scoring leader with 15 goals.

Women in FC 24
As mentioned previously, ever since EA released the latest EA Sports FC 24 reveal trailer, plenty of FUT leakers have been speculating on women coming to Ultimate Team.
EA's recent additions of female leagues in FIFA 23 clearly show the organisation's intent on giving more weight to the female side of the game going forward.
The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and all 12 clubs, as well as the UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL) competition and knockout stage clubs, were added to the FIFA database recently.
We aren't quite sure how the addition of women to the Ultimate Team game mode will work just yet.
Whether EA decides to create a completely separate mode for female players in FUT remains to be seen.
