FIFA 23: Women's Champions League mode COMING SOON

One of the big new inclusions in FIFA 23 was the expansion of the women's game in the title.

A Women's World Cup game mode is stated to drop during the cycle, and that's not the only new addition coming.

Find out all you need to know about the UEFA Women's Champions League coming to FIFA 23 below.

On the European Stage

FIFA 23 already made new ground by covering the women's game more than previous titles, with club sides added for the first time.

The English Barclays Women's Super League and French D1 Arkema represented a couple of the top tiers of women's domestic football, and in press releases, it looked like more leagues would be added.

EA has now announced that the UEFA Women's Champions League competition will be added to the game in early 2023, further expanding coverage.

It has not been revealed exactly how this will be incorporated, but it should offer a fully licensed experience of the 2022/23 UWCL knockout stages, likely coming as a separate game mode.

EA SPORTS has signed a multi-year deal with UEFA women's football, meaning the mode will likely be expanding in the future EA SPORTS FC title.

More Clubs Coming

With the UWCL being added, we should also see the inclusion of even more women's club sides.

The biggest teams from England and France are already in the game, with expansion into the Champions League allowing some of the best clubs in Europe to join them.

This will surely include Barcelona, which is where double UEFA Women's Player of the Year Award and double Ballon d'Or Feminin winner Alexia Putellas spends her time!

It is stated that the knockout stages of the competition will be available, so we will have to wait to see which clubs qualify before we know which sides will be added.

The following clubs are currently in the Group Stage of the UWCL but not yet in FIFA 23:

  • Barcelona
  • Bayern
  • Benfica
  • Juventus
  • Real Madrid
  • Roma
  • Rosengard
  • Slavia Praha
  • St. Polten
  • Vllaznia
  • Wolfsburg
  • Zurich
