Luton Town fans received some very welcome news in recent days after it was announced that their home ground, Kenilworth Road, would finally be added to FC 24, six months on from the game's release.
However, the excitement surrounding its long-awaited arrival has turned out to be rather short-lived, after it emerged the stadium was only available to use in the Kick Off game mode.
Understandably, this has not gone down very well with FC 24 players, who have been patiently waiting for over 200 days to see Kenilworth Road make its way into EA's latest title.
FC 24 fans react to Kenilworth Road gaffe
FC 24 players have been left extremely unhappy after learning that the newly added Kenilworth Road is only playable in Kick Off, and not other modes such as Career Mode or Ultimate Team.
The Luton Town stadium was added to the game for Gen 4 consoles on April 17, whilst Gen 5 consoles received it a week later on April 23, but users are not able to select the ground across multiple game modes.
Considering it has taken just over six months for EA to add Kenilworth Road to FC 24, this development leaves a very bitter taste amongst players, who should expect better after spending their hard-earned money on the game.
Responding to the mishap on the official EA Answers HQ page, fans voiced their anger over yet another major in-game error, which has left many disappointed.
"It's an absolute joke. I found it in kick off mode but when I start a new manager career it's not an option so what was the point in making it if they're not going to make it fully available? The thing that really grinds my gears is how uncontactable EA are. The game isn't cheap and if this was another product, you'd have a way to contact the manufacturer."
"Unfortunately EA like everything, did this half a**ed. They didn't make KR Luton's home stadium but they did add the stadium. So in kick off mode, you can search the stadium but Crown Lane shows up as the default."
"Squad update was just released in the past hour, nothing has changed in either Kick Off or Manager Career modes. Uninstalled the game, until there is verification that the bugs/glitches (broken LED ad boards, black screen during cutscenes, and fan behavior in stands) have been patched, and the stadium has been assigned to Luton Town for usage in Manager Career mode."
We decided to load up FC 24 ourselves to see if anything had changed since these comments were posted, but despite installing the latest Title and in-game Squad Update, Kenilworth Road is still only accessible via Kick Off if you search for it in the Match Settings menu.
