FIFA 23 is reaching the end of its cycle, with EA Sports splitting from FIFA for their next footballing title, EA FC.

Although it won't have the FIFA branding, the new game will be a continuation of the series we have grown to love over the last 30 years, with some big innovations.

EA FC will face plenty of competition for partnerships in the footballing sphere, with FIFA planning their own title, eFootball finding new life, and UFL and GOALS in development.

The good news is that EA Sports has just secured another exclusive deal with some major competitions then, helping keep the authenticity going in EA FC.

EA FC x CONMEBOL

The latest announcement regarding EA FC is that EA Sports has secured a multi-year partnership renewal as the CONMEBOL's exclusive Sports Video Gaming Partner!

This means you will only be able to find CONMEBOL competitions such as CONMEBOL Libertadores, CONMEBOL Sudamericana, CONMEBOL Recopa, and CONMEBOL eLibertadores in EA FC.

The governing body of football in South America is the oldest continental confederation in the world and is steeped in history.

Their partnership also includes additional support of grassroots football initiatives and sponsorship of CONMEBOL Club competitions.

Authenticity is Key

This deal shows that EA is not messing around, securing their portfolio of as many leagues and competitions as they can for as long as they can.

The Brazilian league and licences surrounding it have been an issue in recent FIFA titles, leading to generic kits, club names and players, as well as for the national team.

We hope that this deal can bring more authenticity to EA FC for multiple years, leading the way in South American football.

Not only will this continue to give more player options for Ultimate Team, but it will also mean you can scout the region for wonderkids in Career Mode, with South America home to some of the best young talents in the world.

More Women in EA FC

Part of the press release also shows that EA Sports is expanding its reach in the women's game too, helping to "elevate and accelerate women’s football by becoming an official real world tournament sponsor of CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina."

FIFA 23 saw more women's teams and competitions included, and the press images for EA FC suggest more will be introduced.

EXPANDING THE TEAM - Loads more female players could be included in EA FC

Becoming a sponsor of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina paves the way for more women's clubs to join the title, which could lead to a Women's Career Mode!

There have already been rumours that women will be added to FUT in EA FC, but that can only happen if EA Sports gains enough female players to make a large player pool.
