WWE has made a momentous shift to Netflix, with a deal that will see flagship shows like RAW and SmackDown broadcast live to the millions (and millions) of subscribers worldwide.
Last Monday saw the debut of Monday Night RAW live on the streaming service, which, according to the numbers Netflix released (4.9 million views globally, averaging 2.6 million households in the US), was a resounding success.
This week saw an even stronger show as WWE settled into its new shoes, with a debut from lucha legend Penta and the crowning of a new Women's Intercontinental Champion.
However, not everyone on the roster is happy, and one star, in particular, took to social media to voice their unhappiness with the shuffle that occurred before the Netflix premiere.
Corey Graves, former NxT Tag Team Champion and, until now, the voice of SmackDown with Michael Cole, expressed his heartbreaking feelings on X about being removed from the commentary desk for the move to Netflix.
"Imagine chasing your dream. Then being TOLD (not deciding) that you’re no longer physically able to pursue your dream. Then you dedicate your life to something “dream adjacent” and being pretty fucking awesome at it. And then, when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, being told you’re not famous enough for your own job. Just in case you’ve wondered where I’ve been."
Graves had been a popular color commentator for many years since his career abruptly ended due to concussion-related issues. Corey's future as an in-ring talent seemed bright, and he even won against CM Punk during his stint on the indie scene before making his way to WWE.

In 2022, Graves announced that he had been medically cleared to compete again. Since then, he has not laced up his boots for another run, but for now, you can still hear Corey calling the action on the NxT brand.
Michael Cole was partnered with Pat McAfee on RAW, while Tessitore and Barrett were moved to SmackDown.
While disgruntled and heartbroken over the demotion, Corey Graves joined the NxT commentary team alongside Vic Joseph and Booker T.
