WWE has officially confirmed a multiannual partnership with TNA. The deal involves wrestlers from WWE's NXT and TNA appearing on weekly shows and even Premium Live Events (WWE) and Pay-per-Views (TNA).
On January 16, WWE and Total Nonstop Action (TNA for short) confirmed what every fan has known for years: the companies are working together.
As mentioned, NXT and TNA wrestlers can now actively attend shows such as the NXT weekly shows and TNA iMPACT! Plus, there are bigger events, particularly on the WWE side.
Soon after the partnership reveal, the NXT brand was added to the upcoming TNA PPV Genesis. What this could entail remains to be seen.
The Royal Rumble is not entirely out of the realm of possibilities now. It happened with Mickie James and Jordynne Grace in 2022 and 2024, respectively. Both wrestlers were the Knockouts World Champion when they appeared in the women's Royal Rumble match.
The 2025 Rumble looks stacked on the men's side, with John Cena, CM Punk, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and LA Knight already confirmed.
On the women's side, only Nia Jax stated she'd take part in the battle royale. With the confirmation of WWE and TNA working together, however, the surprising appearance of current TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich might be a slight spoiler for one of the surprises we could see in Indianapolis this February.
Still, this is all mere speculation at the moment. While both promotions have been working together for years, getting an official announcement out might open the floodgates for bigger moves in the future. Could we see a crosspromotion PLE/PPV in the future, as well as an AEW/NJPW/CMLL Forbidden Door event?
It might seem like it's all peaches and gravy for WWE amid a surge in popularity, but the move to Netflix hasn't been unanimously well-received, with one superstar in particular not thrilled with what this new era could mean for his career.
