WWE 2K22's Cover Stars have been voted for by the public

Two of the hottest superstars in WWE will grace the cover of WWE 2K22, as the franchise returns following a two-year absence.

The vote was put to the public - with one male and one female superstar winner.

It remains to be seen if the vote is official - but these two will now be hot favorites to be made WWE 2K22 Cover Stars.

It's Boss Time

That's right, the female voted cover star is the Boss herself - Sasha Banks.

MAKING A STATEMENT - Sasha Banks is a six-time Women's Champion

She is the second of the "Four Horsewomen of the Women's Revolution" - following on from Becky Lynch partnering Roman Reigns on the WWE 2K20 cover.

The Boss will be looking to bounce back from her Wrestlemania 37 defeat to Bianca Belair, losing the SmackDown Women's Championship in the process.

The community looks to be thrilled with Banks' cover vote victory - with the community mocking up potential covers of the Boss in all her glory.

We know can't wait to see the official cover revealed.

A Psychopath on the loose

Perhaps the most dominant superstar in WWE over the past two years - Drew McIntyre is more than deserving of the Cover Star slot.

FLYING THE FLAG - McIntyre becomes the first British WWE game cover star since the British Bulldog in 1991

The "Scottish Psychopath" only returned to WWE in 2016 following a three-year absence, but after dominating NXT - he progressed to the main roster, with his crowning moment defeating Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36.

That championship reign lasted for over 200 days, ending at the hands of Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell in October 2020 - but the Scotsman did recapture the belt less than a month later.

McIntyre kept hold of the belt for additional three months, before losing out the Miz who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract at Elimination Chamber.

He did try and reclaim the title against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 37, but lost out to the Dominator.

McIntyre's time will surely come again.

When will we see the final cover?

Despite this vote, we don't expect to see the cover itself until August.

With the game not expected until October, it wouldn't make a lot of sense for 2K and WWE to reveal it any sooner.

We're still waiting for a fully-fledged WWE 2K22 trailer, and it's likely to be then when we get to look at possibly McIntyre and Banks in all their glory.

What's more - will there be separate male and female covers? Only time will tell.
