WWE 2K22: Removed MyRISE story starred Wyatt, The Fiend, and...The Shiend?

WWE 2K22 MyRISE has gotten plenty of attention for the various storylines that made it into the game, but there's one featuring "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt we're now learning was removed.

Thanks to new details about the dialogue for this story, we're learning just how wacky WWE 2K22 MyRISE would've gotten with the appearance of "The Shiend."

WWE 2K22 MyRISE storyline hinged on released superstar Bray Wyatt

In the months leading up to the launch of WWE 2K22, dozens of superstars were unceremoniously released by WWE with no regard for future products they may have already been a part of.

Mattel released a new set of action figures back in late November, and the majority of that new series (WWE Elite 92) featured superstars like Adam Cole and "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt that were no longer under contract with the company.

COMMUNITY CREATIONS: Creators have already brought The Fiend back into WWE 2K22

As far back as October 2021, there were reports that ongoing plans for DLC in WWE 2K22 were ruined by releases and left the development team "scrambling."

It now appears that more than just DLC was impacted, as several modders who gained access to the core files of WWE 2K22 via the modding tool have located remnants of removed storylines.

"The Fiend" Bray Wyatt was set to be a huge part of MyRISE, not something that's particularly shocking considering he was one of the company's top merchandise sellers prior to his release.

However, fans may be shocked to find out exactly what was on the agenda for Bray Wyatt, including a WWE 2K22 MyRISE storyline that would've featured a character known as "The Shiend."

Dialogue and details revealed for The Fiend and The Shiend in WWE 2K22

WWE 2K22 MyRISE is packed to the brim with storylines, but not all of them are as straightforward as something like pursuing a championship or entering the King of the Ring tournament.

As detailed in a recent Reddit post by user Pepsiguy2, they explored the core files of WWE 2K22 with the modding tool and located the base dialogue and social media interactions for a previously built in Bray Wyatt storyline.

It appears to have been planned for the female MyRISE campaign, and ultimately would've seen Dana Brooke take on a new persona as "The Shiend" alongside Bray Wyatt.

STILL PRESENT: Brooke recorded voiceovers for several other MyRISE storylines that remain

Alexa Bliss also played a role in the story, as this piece of dialogue pulled from the game's code appears to be from her:

"That's not very nice at all, is it fireflies? And even if I wanted to just let that meanie take my new pal away, I can't! She's with HIM now. But you know what they say, sharing is caring! So if anyone really wants to see old boring Dana Brooke again, there is one way! His new creation... and my new BFF the Shiend... wants to play in the Elimination Chamber. But not just any Elimination Chamber... an Elimination Chamber of Horrors! Oh my! And from what I've heard... there's going to be some other new friends there too! Sounds like fun! Have a good time! Bye! Bye! See you soon!"

You can find the full post here with all of the dialogue and tweets uncovered for the storyline, but it doesn't look like we'll get to see what "The Shiend" would've looked like.

While players would've gotten to see Dana Brooke as "The Shiend" in action in MyRISE, it's unlikely this version of her character would've been playable outside of that game mode.

As we've seen with the WWE 2K22 unlockables, superstars who had alternate attires and personas used in MyRISE (such as King Corbin or Nikki Cross) have not had those versions made available elsewhere in the game.
