WWE 2K22 is almost here, but we're still waiting to learn more about all of the different editions that will be offered when the game is released.
Here's everything we know so far about the WWE 2K22 editions and what players can hope to see in each of them this year.
WWE 2K22 Editions: Physical and Digital Standard Editions will have the best price
When WWE 2K22 arrives, there's no doubt that both physical and digital versions of the Standard Edition will be the most affordable version of the game.
The possibility of WWE 2K22 hitting next gen is still up in the air, but we can count on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game being $59.99 at launch.
While they'll likely see discounts in the weeks and months after the title's release date, it's unlikely they'll stray from that standard pricing when it first arrives.
Digital may end up being significantly easier to acquire, and potentially safer with the global pandemic still raging, but players will likely have a variety of outlets to snag the Standard Edition through.
We could see a few WWE 2K22 pre order rewards available with the Standard Edition, likely the same rewards for both physical and digital copies, but those are likely to pale in comparison to the Special Edition perks.
WWE 2K22 Deluxe, Special, or Collector's Edition expected to bring the heat
While they've yet to confirm what kind of non-Standard Editions will be available for WWE 2K22, there are a few we can keep an eye out for based on how previous years have gone.
WWE 2K games have consistently delivered a Special Edition or Collector's Edition most years, and sometimes we see a Digital Deluxe Edition bring some of those extra perks without needing the physical game.
Collector's Editions, like the SmackDown Anniversary and CENA NUFF versions in recent years, tend to include some special WWE memorabilia, a unique game case and presentation, and finally a flurry of in-game content.
We've seen roster members gated as pre order or Collector's Edition content in the past, though they will often subsequently release that content as purchasable DLC some time after the game has launched.
The most likely star to become the focal point of this year's Collector's Edition would be Rey Mysterio, as the legend has already been featured in footage and gets his own WWE 2K Showcase this year.
Past that, we could see a special SmackDown vs. Raw themed Collector's Edition, paying homage to the origin of General Manager Mode (GM Mode) as it sets to return as MyGM in WWE 2K22.
As of now we're still stuck speculating, but we should have official word soon as several WWE 2K22 announcements are expected this month.
We don't yet know what kind of pricing they'll go with for these special editions, but you can find more details here about the WWE 2K22 price fans can expect to pay.
