WoW Classic TBC will soon come to an end with the release of its final update, phase 5.
TBC Classic phase 5 introduces a ton of new content to the game, and gives players a massive challenge to navigate before WoW Classic WotLK continues the journey in the form of its final raid, Sunwell Plateau.
With that, here's everything you need to know about WoW Classic TBC phase 5, Sunwell Plateau, Quel'Danas, Magisters' Terrace, and plenty more.
LATEST: Sunwell Plateau is just HOURS out
The final raid of The Burning Crusade will soon open its doors in WoW Classic TBC.
Sunwell Plateau unlocks on live servers in a few hours, giving players their first opportunity to clear the raid and conquer the demon lord Kil'jaeden.
Along with Sunwell Plateau comes a ton of massively improved gear for all classes and specs, which means this will be a huge power spike for all players.
Whether it's picking up that much-needed expertise to reach cap, haste to push speed limits, or simply pushing new heights of Attack Power and Spell Power, Sunwell Plateau has tons of gear that will make for big upgrades.
This will be the final big release before the WotLK prepatch, which will ease players into the next expansion coming to Classic WoW.
WoW Classic TBC Sunwell Plateau Release Time & Date
WoW Classic TBC Phase 5 went live on Tuesday, May 10th, and players can now experience most of the new content, including the Isle of Quel'Danas!
One aspect that's notably missing, however, is the final raid of The Burning Crusade. So when does Sunwell Plateau come out?
Despite the phase kicking off on Tuesday, the Sunwell Plateau raid won't release until two days later on Thursday, May 12th, at 6pm EST.
Follow along with our countdown below to make sure you don't miss the launch of WoW Classic TBC's final raid!
Sunwell Plateau Release Time
Isle of Quel'Danas Now Live
Players can finally visit the new zone in the final update of WoW Classic TBC, Quel'Danas.
This island is home to the Shattered Sun Offensive, Magisters' Terrace, and eventually, Sunwell Plateau. Players can travel to the island now via a quest from A'dal.
Make sure to check the new area out and get started with the lucrative daily quests for the Shattered Sun Offensive war effort - as it will be important for reputation as well as evolving the zone heading toward the launch of Sunwell Plateau.
What's New in Phase 5?
WoW Classic TBC phase 5 introduces three main points of new content - a new raid, new dungeon, and new zone.
New Raid: Sunwell Plateau
WoW Classic TBC phase 5 is headlined by one of the most iconic and difficult raids in the game's history - Sunwell Plateau.
This raid marks the return of Kael'Thas, who looks to unleash the power of the Sunwell to summon the demon lord Kil'Jaeden after the events of Tempest Keep.
Sunwell Plateau features the following bosses:
- Kalecgos
- Sathrovarr the Corruptor
- Brutallus
- Felmyst
- Eredar Twins (Lady Sacrolash, Grand Warlock Alythess)
- M'uru
- Entropius
- Kil'jaeden
Perhaps the most difficult aspect of Sunwell Plateau beyond its intense boss fights is its instance-wide buff for all mobs called Sunwell Radiance. This buff increases enemy mobs' melee hit by 5%, and reduces player dodge chance by 20%.
This buff will put extreme pressure on tanks and healers to soak an entirely new level of damage output all throughout the raid.
New Zone: Isle of Quel'Danas
The final phase of Classic TBC brings players to a new area, the Isle of Quel'Danas. This island will bring all players together for the Shattered Sun Offensive, a combined force of Aldor and Scryers alike, in order to build up the region by completing daily quests to then take on the massive Sunwell Plateau.
While this is reminiscent of the Ahn'Qiraji war effort in WoW Classic (vanilla), it's a much less involved and scaled-up experience that will hopefully avoid the disastrous launch of the former.
Quel'Danas is home to Sunwell Plateau, Sun's Reach, and Magisters' Terrace.

New Dungeon: Magisters' Terrace
Outside of the massive new Sunwell Plateau raid is another new piece of end-game PVE content, Magisters' Terrace. This dungeon features the return of Kael'Thas Sunstrider for his final appearance as a boss in TBC, and before his move to use the Sunwell to summon Kil'Jaeden.
This dungeon features the following bosses:
- Selin Fireheart
- Vexallus
- Priestess Delrissa (who is joined by a random 1 of 10 other secondary bosses)
- Kael'Thas Sunstrider
Magisters' Terrace, like other TBC dungeons, has a normal and heroic difficulty option, and yields Shattered Sun Offensive reputation along with the typical gear drops.
