The well-documented split between EA Sports and FIFA has fans asking one question: will there be a FIFA 24?
We've got you covered for all the latest information, answering the questions that you most want to be answered.
Will there be a FIFA 24?
The simple answer is yes, there will be a FIFA 24 in some capacity and it's likely to be released in 2023.
However, it's important to note that FIFA as we know it will not be called FIFA anymore, we understand it will now be known as 'FC 24'.
We do not know who will take up the developer mantle, or if FIFA 24 will adopt the same approach as previous games, but we know that FIFA will continue to produce a football game for the fans.
2K games, developers of other titles such as WWE 2K22 and NBA 2K22 have been rumoured to be interested in taking up the developer mantle, but there's no firm news yet to support those claims.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that FIFA would continue to produce games, and produced that any continuation of the series would be the best on the market.
FIFA 2K24 on the cards?
Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick has stated that Take-Two is interested in expanding its sports portfolio.
However, Zelnick did not have anything to announce regarding FIFA at this current time. Zelnick said:
"We're definitely interested in expanding our opportunities in sports and FIFA has a great brand and incredible clout, but we have no current plans to discuss."
Earlier this year, a VGC report suggested 2K was next developing a series of sports-based Lego games, with a World Cup 2022 title set to launch in time for the tournament itself later this year.
This ties in nicely with the World Cup content which is set to be included in EA's final FIFA-branded release, FIFA 23.
