Following great showcases from Nintendo and Xbox at E3 this year, Sony has quite a lot to do to really catch up with all those announcements. That's why rumours have been floating around over the last month about the next showcase. Luckily, we now know when we will see it.
Here's when you can see the next PlayStation showcase.
Latest - PlayStation Showcase next week
Announced on their Twitter page, Sony are hosting a brand new showcase next week on September 9th. You can catch it at 1 pm PT / 9 pm BST.
This has been hinted at for some time. Below is our original report on the rumours last month and our predictions for what might be at the showcase.
PlayStation State of Play August Rumour
James Jarvis is the head of video over at Future so he works with companies like TechRadar, GamesRadar, PCGamer and tonnes more. Needless to say, if he gets some information, it's probably pretty decent.
Over on Twitter, he mentioned that there are currently rumours that we will see a stream on August 19th, with an announcement on August 10th. Now, it seems that announcement didn't happen but the State of Play could still go live.
The announcement not happening doesn't mean there's no State of Play, there's a chance that Sony just held back when they thought they would announce it.
What could we see?
We have no clue what we will see yet but we could see something on the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut. Outside of this, we are awaiting more details on Horizon: Forbidden West, God of War: Ragnarok.
Deathloop recently received a State of Play so we likely won't see that but it could be mentioned. Releasing just under two weeks after that is Kena: Bridge of Spirits, something we would like to see more from.
Death Stranding: Directors Cut is also just a few weeks away so, hopefully, we will see some more information on this. We will update here as soon as we figure out what we will see in the next State of Play.
