Unfortunately, fans desperately waiting for the releases of these upcoming games will have to wait a little bit longer with both of the titles getting delayed by Bethesda in a shock announcement. Here's what we know.

Bethesda Delays Starfield and Redfall until 2023.

The announcement came via the official Bethesda Twitter account which claims that both Arkane's Redfall and Bethesda Game Studios' Starfield will be pushed back from their initial 2022 release dates, instead of releasing in the first half of 2023 at dates that have not yet been revealed to the public.

The timing of the announcements is worth noting as it falls exactly one day before the upcoming Xbox and Bethesda showcase, where footage of the two games was expected to be on full display leading up to their respective launches.

While both titles could make an appearance at the event still, even to announce the new release dates, expectations should be adjusted accordingly now that the delays have been confirmed ahead of time.

The official Arkane Twitter account added onto this statement, stating that Redfall is their "most ambitious game yet" and that the extra time was needed so the team could "bring the game to life". The Bethesda Game Studios account also tweeted about the announcement, stating that they "can't wait" for players to get their hands on Starfield but the extra time was needed and that they "are excited to show you the game soon".
