Counting down to Square Enix Presents E3 2021

We are just hours away from learning what Square Enix has planned for the next year. Their E3 2021 showcase will hopefully be full of game trailers, demos and even a few surprises.

Lets take a look at everything we know, and what we want from the Square Enix E3 2021 presentation.

UPDATED - Square Enix Take to the Stage Today

Today's the day for Square Enix fans as they eagerly await the latest from the developer/publisher. Many fans are hoping that Square puts together a better showing than Gearbox Software yesterday, where very little was revealed or even talked about.

There is still belief that Final Fantasy Origin will be the big reveal along with the Guardians of the Galaxy project. This is in addition to confirmed appearances of Babylon's Fall, Life is Strange and Marvel's Avengers.

Square Enix E3 2021 Start Time

While certain outlets may provide pre and post-show coverage, the main Square Enix presentation is due to start at 8.15pm BST.

They are yet to confirm a run-time for the presentation. Based on previous showing, Square Enix tend to be on the shorter side with their events. We expect anything from between 45 minutes to an hour as a runtime.

Confirmed Games

Not many games have been confirmed for a showing during Square Enix's E3 presentation. We do, however, have an idea on what game may appear based on some leaks.

The next Life is Strange game, True Colors, is due for release on 10 September 2021. We've seen bits and pieces but I believe we'll see a big showing from the game at the Square Enix E3 presentation.

Next is Final Fantasy Origin. This title is rumoured to be in development by Team Ninja (Not to be confused with Ninja Theory). It is a spin-off and set to be a souls-style game in the same vein as popular Team Ninja franchise Nioh.

Final Fantasy VXI is rumoured NOT to be showing up.

Jason Schreier has also noted that a Guardian's of the Galaxy game will be shown. Further detail suggest the game is not a live service game but instead a tactical shooter like X-Com.

It's likely that we will also receive updates on Marvel Avengers and Outriders as they are both live service games. Beyond that we may get another showing for Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade given that it releases just days before the presentation.

What We Want To See

Now onto the fun part, speculation. We would love to see more from Babylon's Fall, which received little coverage since last year after a promising reveal. Could this collaboration between Platinum Games and Square Enix be ready for release by the end of 2021?

Are Square Enix ready to offer something new for Kingdom Hearts? The franchise has a bad habit of going quiet for years at a time but they could be ready to break this trend.

We have seen smaller Kindgom Hearts titles released in the past to fill the gaps between mainline games and returning to this formula could keep fans happy. If they have anything in the pipeline, expect to see it during E3 2021.

Lastly, playing off the back of the recent release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, I believe now is the best time to show off Part 2.

We know it's coming, we just don't know when. Final Fantasy likes to go big on reveals so whether it's a stunning trailer or surprise gameplay, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 needs to show up.
