RealSport101 Advent Calendar

December marks the festive season and this year the RealSport team is taking a trip down memory lane and recalling some of our favourite players from previous editions of FIFA.

This is the fourth day in our FIFA advent calendar, and we hope we have triggered fond memories for some of the best players FIFA has ever seen.

RealSport101 Advent Calendar - Day 4

FIFA fans often look for strikers with pace and strength, and there have not been many players more effective than our Day 4 pick.

Not only was he a monster on his own, but he also had a deadly striker partner that made them two of the most feared forwards in Ultimate Team.

Emmanuel Emenike - FIFA 12

The definition of beast mode. Emmanuel Emenike's prime FIFA days were in FIFA 12 when he boasted 89 Pace and 94 Strength.

Partnered with Welliton in the Spartak Moscow attack, these two gave Ultimate Team players nightmares.

Emenike was more than just his insane physicality though, with 82 Finishing and 84 Long Shots making him a serious goal threat.

GOLDEN ERA - Emenike was a FUT menace back in the day

Things started to go downhill for Emenike after FIFA 13 though as his rating declined after moving to more prominent leagues.

His most recent appearance in FIFA was in FIFA 18, where a 74 OVR highlighted a drop in his attributes.

Still boasting good physical attributes, the more balanced gameplay in recent seasons has seen a decline in lesser-known players being included in the meta.

The Emenike Story

Emmanuel Emenike never really lit up the footballing world as he did in the virtual gaming sphere.

Emenike spent most of his career in Turkey, amassing 34 goals in 94 appearances for Karabukspor and Fenerbahce.

His most prolific era was in Russia where he scored a goal every other game during his two-year spell at Spartak Moscow.

An ill-fated spell at West Ham saw him fail to score a single league goal, but his legacy had already been established.

On the international stage, Emenike enjoyed some success with Nigeria as he helped them lift the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013.

He bagged four goals in his five appearances in the competition but missed the final through injury.
