Throughout December, we will be taking a look back at some of our favourite players from previous FIFA games.
Our advent calendar series won't just provide a sense of great nostalgia for us, but it should also unlock your memories for some of the best OP stars FIFA has ever seen.
RealSport101 Advent Calendar - Day 17
Not every Ultimate Team legend has to be a dominating attacker that bangs in the goals left, right and centre, sometimes it can be a defender that kept goals out.
This man, not widely known in the footballing world, will always be known as one of the best, and fastest, defenders ever seen in the history of FIFA Ultimate Team.
Marvell Wynne - FIFA 12
Marvell Wynne is an icon of FIFA.
An electrifying defender who wouldn't only offer solidity at the back, but would also give you a whole new dimension going forward.
At 96 pace, Wynne is the quickest centre-half FIFA has ever seen and in an age of overpowered silver cards, Wynne was the pick of the bunch.
Whilst the American centre-half never had an illustrious playing career, it's his dominance on the FIFA field that has left him etched into the hearts of so many.
You won't be surprised to know that Wynne ran 100 metres in just over 11 seconds, firmly justifying his FIFA pace rating.
He was expensive and deservedly so, with this hot commodity still acting as a card that people will remember warmly for years to come.
What happened to Marvell Wynne?
Wynne retired from football in 2017, ending his career at the San Jose Earthquakes.
Wynne gained over 300 MLS appearances in a career that spanned just over 10 years, with the defender/full-back notching just 2 professional goals during that time, both for Toronto.
Wynne does have an MLS Cup to his name, claiming the trophy in 2010 with the Colorado Rapids.
Nowadays, you can find Wynne passing down his knowledge to the next generation, as the American FIFA icon has taken up a coaching position at the John Woods Community College Blazers’ men's team.
He's a true FIFA legend, the likes of which we may never see again, and we will always thank Captain Marvell for bringing us so many Wynne's.
