For the second straight year, the Denver Nuggets and Servian superstar, Nikola Jokić, is the highest-rated player in the game.
Jokić has a 97 OVR in NBA 2K25. The three-time MVP winner and NBA champion is tied with Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who also have a 97 OVR. However, he is considered the highest-rated player in the game by 2K.
This generated a lot of controversy in the community, not because Jokić is the highest rated, but because there are three players tied for the highest rating in the game.
There should be at least a one rating difference between players, otherwise, what are the criteria to define which of the 97 OVR players is the number 1? It's confusing, and NBA 2K fans are rightfully upset about this.
The fact that Jokić rating decreased from a 98 to a 97 is also perplexing. He is one of the best in the league and comes off an MVP season, but somehow he got worse and his rating decreased?
Having many players with the same rating in the top ten makes the ranking confusing, and is something NBA 2K should address. It would make the ranking easier to understand.
