STAGGERED: Some regions will be annoyed watching others play PS5 a week early
Sony announced a staggered release schedule for the console, so some lucky regions will have it as early as 12 November, while others will have to wait for 19 November.
Standard Edition
NBA 2K games traditionally feature three editions. This year there is really only two.
The Current-Gen Standard Edition, fronted by Damian Lillard on current-generation platforms, will cost $59.99 / £59.99.

2K has also confirmed that Xbox players who buy the Standard Edition on Xbox One will be able to play on Xbox Series X via backwards compatibility.

The same functionality has not been confirmed for PS4 players.
Next-gen Standard Edition
If you want to wait until the PS5 and Xbox Series X arrive then you can.
The next-gen Standard Edition will have Zion Williamson on the cover, but costs a little more.
THE FUTURE: Zion is the future of the NBA
At £64.99, 2K has perhaps made the first announcement in the price jump gamers could see when next-gen finally arrives.

The second distinct edition of NBA 2K21 is the Mamba Forever Edition.
This Kobe Bryant tribute edition replaces the Legend Edition for NBA 2K21.
TWO FOR ONE: The left cover is for current-gen, the right for next-gen
Coming in at $99.99 / £84.99 the Mamba Forever Edition isn't cheap.

However, it also comes with Dual Access, meaning you won't have to buy the game again on next-gen. If you buy the game for the first time on next-gen, it will also be playable on the current-gen!
