NBA 2K20: NBA Legendary Teams: NBA All-Decade Teams 2000s & 2010s

All-Decade teams are coming to NBA 2K20.

Having already delved into the 1980s and 1990s teams, this article will look at the more recent All-Decade teams of the 2000's and 2010's. Who do we know will be in them and who should be included.

We also have a full list of the 60+ legendary teams that will be included in NBA 2K20.

2000s

NBA superstar Kobe Bryant heads the team from the noughties, alongside a range of other NBA greats, including fellow Laker Shaquille O’Neal. Allen ‘The Answer’ Iverson makes his first All-Decade appearance as does Spurs legend Tim Duncan. Finally, there is an appearance for the disputed GOAT LeBron James.

As with the 80s and 90s starting fives, there is a case to be made for several NBA superstars who just missed the starting cut, heres three names who we believe will be in the squad.

Kevin Garnett

Power forward Kevin Garnett was one of the NBAs stars of the noughties. The South Carolinian came straight out of Chicago's Farragut Academy, the first NBA player since 1975 to be drafted straight out of college.

Boy, did he make it look easy. Garnett transformed a below average Timberwolves side into a competitive team, picking up the 2004 NBA MVP award along the way before moving onto Boston and the Celtics, where he helped the side to the 2008 NBA title.

Garnett averaged 21.6 PPG, 12.1 RPG and 4.7 APG during the decade. It would be a big surprise if he didn’t feature.

Dwyane Wade

NBA 2K20 Legend Edition cover star Dwyane Wade is another player who could quite easily have made the five. Arguably Miami Heat's greatest ever player, Wade didn’t make his NBA debut until 2003 but when he did, he did it in style.

His partnership with Shaq helped the Heat to their first ever NBA title in 2006, whilst he was also named the 2009 NBA Scoring Champion after averaging 30.2 PPG.

Tracy McGrady

Tracy McGrady spent his 2000’s with two NBA sides. The Orlando Magic and the Houston Rockets. Unfortunately for him, this is where his issues lay.

As neither side were contending for Championships during this period, T-Mac never won a Championship during his illustrious career, however he posted some big numbers.

The 2003 and 2004 NBA Scoring Champion with averages of 32.1 and 28 respectively, T-Mac was one of the most natural scorers the NBA has ever seen and most certainly warrants a place in the squad.

Other likely inclusions

Dallas Mavericks great Dirk Nowitzki, considered by many to be the greatest international could make an appearance, although Rockets’ Yao Ming may have made a claim for that title if it wasn’t for his injuries.

Another man with a solid claim for the best non-American to play in the NBA is Canadian Steve Nash, the ’05 and ’06 MVP will without doubt feature in the side.

Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, famed for his defensive skills, should be in the team, as should Boston Celtics Paul Pierce.

2010s

LeBron James joins Michael Jordan in making a second All-Decade team as he features in the 2010s side. Golden State three-point king Steph Curry and Rockets point machine James Harden also make the cut, as does new Brooklyn Nets recruit Kevin Durant and Dwight Howard, of the Memphis Grizzlies.

As the 2010s draw to a close, heres a look at three players from recent years who should make the squad.

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook has been one of the NBAs most consistent players in recent years. Russ spent the whole of the 2010's in Oklahoma playing for the Thunder and whilst he may not have won any rings during his time there, he has won several individual accolades, a testament to his brilliance.

He has featured in the All-Star team eight times in the past decade, missing out only in 2010 and 2014. He was also named the NBAs MVP in 2017.

Last season he joined Wilt Chamberlain as only the second player in the history of the NBA to post a 20-20-20 game, as he ended April's regular season game with the Lakers with 20 points 21 assists and 20 rebounds.

Kawhi Leonard

Two-time NBA Champion Kawhi Leonard wrote his name in Toronto Raptors history last season as he helped the Canadian franchise to their first ever NBA Championship.

Add that to the one he won back in 2014 with the San Antonio Spurs and Kawhi has a pretty successful resume. He knows how to perform when it matters too, winning the Finals MVP award in both title winning seasons.

Anthony Davis

NBA 2K20 cover star Anthony Davis spent his 2010's career with the New Orleans Pelicans, before agreeing to a move to the LA Lakers ahead of the upcoming season.

His double-double average of 23.7 PPG and 10.5 RPG makes the 6ft10 power forward one of the most dangerous players in the NBA, on both ends of the court.

He has featured as an NBA All-Star in each of his last six campaigns and should be one to feature in the 2010's NBA All-Decade side.

Other likely inclusions

New OKC recruit Chris Paul should make the set-up alongside Detroit's Blake Griffin, who has enjoyed some of his finest basketball of his career in recent years.

Kobe Bryant could join LeBron and Jordan in making his second All-Decade appearance despite retiring in 2016. Whilst the Clippers Paul George is highly likely to feature.

Giannis Antetokounmpo might have only made his NBA debut in 2013, however it would be a shock if last seasons MVP didn't make the cut.
