A new update to eFootball Kick-Off! has gone live, introducing Leagues Mode, a brand-new game mode where players pick their club from across 25 leagues and proceed to fight for the league title.
It's the spiritual successor to Master League, but with some significant differences from the franchise's most iconic mode.
A New Version of Master League
League Mode arrived in eFootball Kick-Off! via a free update. The mode allows players to select their favorite team from across 25 leagues in Europe, South America, Asia, and Oceania.
It includes the first and second tiers of popular leagues such as the English, Spanish, and Italian leagues.
Ligue 1, Liga Portugal Betclic, J1 League, and Brasileirão Betano are also in the game, and contrary to the ones listed above, their images are licensed.
Once players select their team, they will battle for the title over a full season, while also competing for the Top Goalscorer and Assist Leader awards.
The mode also features Co-op Play, with four players able to team up and compete throughout the season for both the individual awards and the league title.
Leagues Mode is clearly the franchise's new version of the Master League. However, it doesn't include features that made the original mode a pillar of the PES franchise and one of the best offline sports modes to ever exist.
At the moment, the mode is only available in eFootball Kick-Off!, which is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.
