Madden 23 is almost here, and players need to know what kind of cross platform and crossplay is on the table this year.
Here's everything you need to know about Madden 23 being cross platform or having crossplay for the first time.
Is Madden 23 cross platform?
Let's first define cross platform, because it's a term that can get a bit confusing, as Madden 23 is technically on multiple platforms.
If you're wondering in the purest sense of that definition, Madden 23 is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

However, there are larger questions about the potential inclusion of crossplay and whether cross platform progression will be an option this year.
Will Madden 23 have crossplay?
If you were hoping to sync up online and play with or against friends on another platform, Madden 23 is going to disappoint once again.
Despite strides towards crossplay with other titles like MLB The Show, EA has yet to budge and will not have crossplay in any form for Madden 23.
If you hope to play against someone online, they'll need to be playing on the exact same platform as you are.
Will Madden 23 have cross platform progression and saves?
There's both good and bad news on the cross platform progression front, as Madden 23 does have some of that due to Dual Entitlement.
With EA still pushing players to buy the All Madden Edition which will have either the PS4 & PS5 or Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S versions, some progress will sync as long as you're using the same account for each.
Everything in Madden Ultimate Team will transfer except progress in competitive modes, and all progression in The Yard carries over.
The bad news is that Franchise Mode and Face of the Franchise have absolutely zero carry-over for your save files.
If you start saves on either on PS4 or Xbox One and later upgrade to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, you'll have to start over in those game modes.
