Mavuika joins Genshin Impact's class of Archons in 5.3 and she's a bit too perfect. Not only does she have all the jazz and pizzazz, but she also gets to have a near-unrivalled damage output.
While her flair appears offbeat for a supposed god of war, Mavuika being the best DPS certainly fits the title. But she has some strict team restrictions to reach high numbers, as well as some unique gameplay twists.
Here is a build guide detailing all that, including the best weapons and artifacts.
Mavuika Playstyle In Genshin Impact
Mavuika is primarily an on-field damage dealer with some off-field damage capabilities that mirror Xiangling. The majority of her damage comes from her Elemental Burst, followed by her Elemental Skill charged attacks that'll have you making donuts riding her signature bike.
There is one hard requirement to make the best out of her spins and skids. You need at least one character from Natlan as her teammate. That's because Mavuika uses "Fighting Spirit" instead of the traditional Energy system for Elemental Burst. To easily fill the spirit up, you'll need to consume Nightsoul Points during combat and that requires other Natlan characters.
It's not exactly head-scratching rocket science and you just need to perform Natlan character's skills, but you absolutely need a Natlan unit. On the positive side, it frees up any worry about chasing ER as a stat in artifacts. Outside of that, building her is the same as any other Pyro DPS, get those CRIT, ATK, and EM stats ready.
It's even easier to play if you're using her as an off-filled proxy for Xiangling. Just a single tap of her Elemental Skill and our rubber-burning Archon will rain fires every few intervals. Even better if you can melt (or vaporize) her Burst to squeeze some modest six-figure nukes.
Best Artifacts For Mavuika In Genshin Impact
The best artifact for Mavuika in Genshin Impact is the Obsidian Codex. It was added with Natlan and is great for almost all of the Natlanese cast.
Here are three things to keep in mind when farming the artifacts:
- Use either ATK% or EM Sands, Pyro DMG Goblet, and CRIT Circlet.
- Because the 4-piece bonus of Obsidian provides a 40% CRIT Rate, chase more CRIT DMG. Ideally, keep your CRIT Rate above 40 but not more than 60, as it'll hit the cap.
- Energy Recharge is worthless.
While Obsidian Codex is the best artifact when playing Mavuika as an on-field damage dealer, if you're using her in an off-field role, Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City will be the best choice.
But if one from your team already has Scroll, you can run Obsidian Codex just fine. Given how versatile Obsidian Codex is, we recommend farming a full 4pc set, especially if you're playing her as a DPS.
For a placeholder, while you farm Obsidian, you can pair any 2-piece ATK-providing artifacts or the EM ones.
Best Weapons
The best weapon for Mavuika in Genshin Impact is A Thousand Blazing Suns. It's her signature weapon, and almost all of the characters have their signature weapons as the best in the slot. This weapon provides a sub-stat of CRIT Rate and a passive tailor-made to buff her.
Other weapon options include Serpent Spin, Wolf's Gravestone, and Mailed Flower. Her best F2P option is Tidal Shadow as it can be crafted. Mailed Flower is a better free option, but it's an event-exclusive weapon and can't be acquired now, so you may not have it. You can also use CRIT-providing claymores as a stats stick.
Earth Shaker is the best F2P option if you're playing her as an off-field support.
Best Team For Mavuika In Genshin Impact
The best teammates for Mavuika in Genshin Impact are Bennett, Citlali, and Xilonen.
Citlali's banner is featured alongside Mavuika, so if you're dry on Primogems and can't get her, you can use Furina instead. Using Furina also allows you to run 4pc Marechaussee Hunter.
Here are some other teams, none as good but still solid:
- Mavuika, Bennett, Furina, Xilonen
- Mavuika, Bennett, Kazuha, Citlali
- Mavuika, Bennett, Chevreuse, Ororon
In general, Bennett and Xilonen are important, particularly Xilonen, as she'll fill Mavuika's Fighting Spirit the fastest. She also works better in melt comps, and Citlali enables that best with good buffs.
When you're looking for alternatives, try to look for closer alternatives based on whether you're building a melt, vaporize, or overload team. Like Cryo's off-filed character for Citlali, Hydro for Furina, as well as others like Natlan's support for Xilonen.
As an off-field unit, you can use her in teams that require off-field Pyro applying sub-DPS. Kinich, Mualani, Wriothesley, Chasca, and other similar characters can benefit from slotting in Mavuika.
All in all, our Pyro Archon is perfect beyond measure. She is simple to play, does incredible damage, and is versatile.
