Things are really hotting up in FPL now as we head towards the Premier League run-in and there are plenty more double gameweeks on the way in Fantasy.

You'll need to target the very best FPL assets for the remaining ten gameweeks of the season and we're here to highlight the outstanding option in the midfield.

James Maddison (£8.1m) is the player in question.

In this article, we'll be breaking down Maddison as an FPL asset based on his form, fixtures and upcoming opponents.

Form

James Maddison has struggled with injuries throughout the 2022/23 season, but when he has played, the English playmaker has been nothing short of exceptional.

Most recently, Maddison's three consecutive starts in GW22 - GW24 saw him earn a combined total of 20 points, with two goals and one assist in that time.

The Foxes midfielder was then ruled out again with an injury but has since returned to the starting lineup and is Brendan Rodgers' most important player.

As far as Leicester's form goes, it doesn't make for pretty reading.

The Foxes have lost their last four Premier League matches, scoring just one goal in the process against Chelsea.

Despite this, a fully fit James Maddison changes the dynamic in attack and if Leicester score a goal, you can be sure that he will be involved.

Fixtures

Leicester are just one of six teams to have a fixture in GW28 and GW32 as well as a Double Gameweek in GW29.

On top of this, Brendan Rodgers' side has one of the most favourable DGW29 sets of fixtures as they face Crystal Palace (A) and Aston Villa (H).

In fact, in their next nine matches, Leicester will face six teams in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

PROLIFIC - Maddison is ruthless in front of goal

Leicester's next nine Premier League fixtures are as follows:

  • GW28 - Brentford (A)
  • GW29 - Crystal Palace (A)
  • GW29 - Aston Villa (H)
  • GW30 - Bournemouth (H)
  • GW31 - Manchester City (A)
  • GW32 - Wolves (H)
  • GW33 - Leeds (A)
  • GW34 - Everton (H)

As you can see from the above list, Leicester will play four matches at home within their next nine games, where they have a record of three wins, three draws and seven losses this season so far.

Opponents

Now, it's time to take a more in-depth look at Brihgton's upcoming opponents.

GW28 - Brentford could prove to be a tough fixture for Leicester despite losing their last match to Everton, but it is worth picking up Maddison in advance of their GW29 Double.

GW29 - Crystal Place are STILL yet to win a match since the turn of the calendar year and have kept just one clean sheet in their last six games.

GW29 - A home fixture against Aston Villa poses a great opportunity for Maddison to produce a big haul in Fantasy.

FAMILIAR FEELING - Madders loves a goal

GW30 - Bournemouth at home is a must-win for Leicester as they fight relegation.

GW31 - Manchester City will be a tough away trip for Leicester.

GW32 - Wolves have kept just one clean sheet in their last six matches and will likely struggle at the King Power Stadium.

GW33 - Leeds are an unpredictable side that has the capacity to leak goals. You can be sure that Maddison will expose the Leeds defence if he gets the chance.

GW34 - Despite looking more solid defensively under Sean Dyche, Everton have still conceded eight goals in their last four PL outings.
