FPL 2022/23

The official FPL Twitter account revealed that access to the new FPL season would start in July, and the game went live on Tuesday, 5 July at approximately 4:30pm BST.

Last year Liverpool's Mohamed Salah topped the chart with 265 points, closely followed by Heung Min Son with 242 points.

A couple of defenders, Trent Alexander-Arnold (208 points) and Joao Cancelo (201 points) also made up the top five, with West Ham's Jarrod Bowen a cost-effective choice after his 206 points haul last campaign.

Prices

All the 2022/23 FPL player prices have now been revealed, after clubs initially revealed 11 players each.

It's no surprise to see Mohamed Salah with the biggest price tag, with his £13.0m cost £1.0m higher than any other player.

Kevin De Bruyne and Heung Min Son are the next highest at £12.0m each, with Cristiano Ronaldo a potential steal for £10.5m.

The Premier League fixtures have been announced for the upcoming 2022/23 season, and it is never too early to start planning for Fantasy Premier League!

FPL will make its full return in August, but you will be able to access your team in the app and online weeks before the first match.

We are taking an early peek at the fixture list and shortlisting potential transfer targets in preparation for launch.

GW1 Fixtures:

  • Bournemouth v Aston Villa
  • Crystal Palace v Arsenal
  • Everton v Chelsea
  • Fulham v Liverpool
  • Leeds United v Wolves
  • Leicester City v Brentford
  • Manchester United v Brighton
  • Newcastle v Nottingham Forest
  • Tottenham v Southampton
  • West Ham v Manchester City

Tips

We shouldn't need to point this out, but whatever you do, you simply must include Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) in your side.

Sure, he's the most expensive player around, but there is a reason for that - because he will guarantee you points!

Not only that, but four of Liverpool's opening five fixtures are against Fulham, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Newcastle, with the other coming against Manchester United.

If Liverpool expects to win the title this season, they should be looking to get maximum points against the 'smaller' sides and could make it a full house with United in transition.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.5m) and Joao Cancelo (£7.0m) will also be good mainstays in your team, both high-scoring defenders and unlikely to be rotated out of the starting lineup.

If you're looking at cheaper options, Connor Coady (£5.0m) is always a decent shout, as he rarely misses a game, and Wolves could be on for another steady season.

Under the Antone Conte revolution at Spurs, Ivan Perisic (£5.5m) could be worth a punt, listed as a defender but very likely to be getting forward as a LM.
