The World Cup content is taking over FIFA 23, with the new World Cup Mode out via DLC and the promos about to kick off in Ultimate Team with Path to Glory.
We thought that most of the extra content had already been revealed or leaked, but EA has caught us off guard with a new item type that you can add to your FUT club for FREE!
Find out all you need to know about the World Cup History Makers items in Ultimate Team and how to unlock them below.
World Cup History Makers
EA has revealed yet another brand-new card type for Ultimate Team!
FIFA World Cup History Makers items will be coming to FUT, with Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham revealed as mini-cards with a new design.
According to EA's release, "a FIFA World Cup History Maker player item celebrates current international players who are set to have a key role for their country at the FIFA World Cup 2022."
The History Maker players will also receive two upgrades, with one upgrade on Friday, 13 January, and the second upgrade on Tuesday, 14 February.
How to Unlock
Thankfully, you don't have to do much to unlock the new cards for your Ultimate Team.
All you have to do is play FIFA 23 by Tuesday, 3 January to unlock the reward of one Icon or FUT Hero player on a 7-match loan, and an untradeable World Cup History Makers item!
The two players you receive will be linked by their nationality, hence the Zidane/Mbappe and Beckham/Bellingham as seen on the banner.
It doesn't specify that you have to play in a specific game mode of FIFA 23 to obtain the cards, so they should be gained even if you only play Ultimate Team.
Although the expiry for the reward is January, the cards may be added to your FUT 23 account before then, so you can use them in the World Cup promos.
