It's official, the Premier League has inducted a further six players into the Hall of Fame this week, with four of the new faces already Icon players in FIFA Ultimate Team.
The Class of '22 has now reached eight players after Wayne Rooney and Patrick Vieira were inducted earlier in the year.
With FIFA 23 now on the horizon, will EA celebrate the Hall of Famers with new special cards, or will we see some new faces added to the existing Icon ranks?
Hall of Famers
As mentioned above, six players have been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame this week, taking the total number of Hall of Famers to 16.
Manchester United legends Peter Schmeichel and Paul Scholes are among the new faces, and both already feature as Icon players in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.
Forwards Ian Wright and Didier Drogba have also been added, with both also Icon players in EA's flagship game mode.
Two non-Icon players have also made the list as more recent Premier League stars, with Manchester City duo Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero recognised for their incredible contributions to the league.
Captain Fantastic
One of the new inductees into the Hall of Fame is Belgian colossus Vincent Kompany.
Kompany led City to Premier League glory and scored some vital goals along the way, so he is well-deserving of a spot in the Hall of Fame.
Not only that, but we believe that Kompany deserves a place among the FIFA Icons too, so this accolade should only enhance his chances of being added.
The former Belgian international's incredible size and physical attributes should also help him fit the predicted meta in FIFA 23 too!
Goal Machine
Joining Kompany on the list is Manchester City's record goalscorer Sergio Aguero.
Aguero scored 184 Premier League goals in 275 appearances for City, winning the Premier League title five times along the way.
The Argentine striker announced his retirement this season, and it surely won't be long until he is added to the Icon ranks.
We would expect Aguero to be among the best strikers on offer in the game, so fingers crossed we get our wish next season!
New Card Type?
New card types are always exciting in any edition of FIFA, and we would love to see EA introduce a 'Hall of Fame' item.
With only 16 players on the list so far, these cards would be very exclusive, and hopefully highly rated!
Even if these were just one-off items each time a player was inducted, we would still love to see it happen.
