With the dawn of a new year, the time is right for new beginnings, but also for reflection on what has passed.

FIFA 23 Ultimate Team has given us plenty of content to get stuck into, with weekly promos, including the bumper World Cup celebrations!

So many cards have been released in the campaign so far, but who are the least popular FUT players? Find out the Top 10 below...

10 - Mauro Icardi Out of Position (OVR 87)

A lot of the hate for Mauro Icardi's Out of Position card came from actions in his personal life, however, there were also plenty who were annoyed and saw him as unusable.

We think he's a decent enough card that can help you complete Super Lig objectives until the end of the season, and he can be added to your club for as little as 30,000 coins!

9 - Noble Okello Winter Wildcards (OVR 85)

We have had daily player SBCs throughout the Winter Wildcards campaign, so they can't all be top players, with the community hating the release of Noble Okello!

Despite having pretty great stats, he suffers for playing in a minor league and was declared as 'nontent', despite only costing 14,500 coins.

8 - Dejan Kulusevski RTTK (OVR 87)

There are a couple of reasons why Dejan Kulusevski's Road to the Knockouts card was hated; firstly, it was a fairly pricey SBC that came early in the cycle; second, owners had to wait a while for the upgrade!

Spurs secured their second win and qualification to the Champions League knockouts (each giving a +1 boost to the card) in the final game of the group stage, giving a rollercoaster ride to those who gambled on him.

7 - Kylian Mbappe (OVR 91)

As one of the best cards to use in-game, it may be surprising to see Kylian Mbappe on this list, but that's how the community have called it!

His mega deal with PSG saw many turn against him, seeing him as money-grabbing, and the fact that he is still so expensive to buy from the FUT Market will make people jealous of those who have him - especially when he gets past your defence so easily.

6 - Ansu Fati Out of Position (OVR 87)

Ansu Fati's Out of Position card was another classic case of EA releasing an overpriced SBC.

320,000 coins were far too much to shell out for a good, but not brilliant, player, and the wrath from the community was felt!

5 - Thiago Silva Flashback (OVR 85)

Being released at the start of FIFA 23 meant loads of people were actively involved with the game, which we think skewed the number of dislikes Thiago Silva's Flashback card gained.

He had phenomenal stats for a release so early in the season and was rightly harder to unlock, but still, the calls of "overpriced" rang out.

4 - Inaki Williams WC Path to Glory (OVR 86)

We totally get the dislike for Inaki Williams' World Cup Path to Glory card as the community wanted something better for this fan-favourite.

It was unlikely that Ghana would progress far in the tournament so his card wouldn't be upgraded, so some higher stats would have made all the difference and given us a usable player!

3 - Oleksandr Zinchenko Out of Position (OVR 86)

We don't have a clue why Oleksandr Zinchenko's Out of Position card got so many dislikes, but for whatever reason, the community took against him.

It could just be that it was quite an average card, with a price to match, and as we know, fans want more than that!

2 - Robert Lewandowski POTM (OVR 92)

325,000 coins is a hefty price for a card, especially when it is only a +1 increase from that player's base version!

That's as good a reason as any for the uproar that came when Robert Lewandowski gained his Player of the Month SBC, a simply ridiculous cost for a card that isn't even meta.

1 - Cristiano Ronaldo Flashback (OVR 87)

For the second year in a row, Cristiano Ronaldo has the most disliked card in Ultimate Team!

Once again, the price given to this Flashback version (450,000 coins) was far too high, especially because it was for an 87-rated card.

Sometimes, base stats can hide the true power of a card, but that wasn't really the case with this one.

To make matters worse, it came at a time when CR7 was without a club, meaning he was assigned Portugal as his club and World Cup as his league, making it tough to get him on decent chemistry!
