At long last, EA has finally introduced Man of the Match (MOTM) items to FIFA 23 Ultimate Team!
Originally introduced back in FUT 12, Man of the Match items have always got fans off their seats as they are some of the most unique in the game.
Although they will not compete with the likes of the Team of the Year (TOTY) cards, the return of MOTM items will no doubt be warmly received by the FIFA community.
So, stay up to date with all the latest on FIFA 23's MOTM items below.
First of many
Inter Milan's veteran striker Edin Dzeko is the player selected for FIFA 23's very first Man of the Match item.
The official EA Sports FIFA Twitter account has confirmed that the Bosnian number nine is set for an 88 OVR card in Ultimate Team.
Despite Dzeko's special item not fitting the FUT 23 meta, EA has given the 36-year-old a +4 OVR boost, which is a positive sign of things to come.
With the +4 OVR president now set, when the players that are more naturally suited to the FIFA 23 play style are inevitably selected for MOTM cards, they could be propelled to some of the most overpowered items in the game.
Take Marcus Rashford, for example. If the Manchester United forward goes and nets a goal in the Carabao Cup final, his MOTM item could be rated as an 87 OVR in Ultimate Team.
We hope to see EA roll out the Man of the Match cards in the weeks to come!
What are MOTM items?
Man of the Match cards are special player items in FIFA 23 assigned to the highest-performing player from a certain match in real-world football.
MOTM items will only be handed out in FUT 23 based on domestic cups and continental club tournament matches.
MOTM items were created in FUT 12 to reward the best players of matches not covered by the TOTW cards.
