A couple of weeks after the other leagues announced their March Player of the Month nominees, Ligue 1 has now joined in, with players announced, voting open, and the winner set to gain a boosted card in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team!
EA has just released the official shortlist of three players who will compete for your votes to become Ligue 1's POTM.
Check out who the nominees are below and what their card could look like with a boost in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team if they win the Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for March.
Ligue 1 POTM Nominees Revealed
March is over, so we have a full picture of how players have performed in Ligue 1 throughout the month, with three nominated for the Player of the Month award.
The attacking trio have 17 goal involvements spread out between them and we could get an insanely good SBC in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team if a certain Belgian happens to win the vote!
The following players have been nominated for Ligue 1's March Player of the Month award:
- Lois Openda
- Elye Wahi
- Folarin Balogun
Make sure to have your say by voting for your favourite nominee via this link.
Lois Openda (OVR 88)
Lois Openda already has a staggeringly good Team of the Week item in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team and things could get better, as a Player of the Month upgrade is certainly on the cards!
The Belgian scored five and assisted one during three games in March as Lens crept up the table to third (and has continued up to second!).
His 87 OVR TOTW card already has the base stats of a 91-rated striker and maximum pace, which can gain the stats of a 94-rated ST on certain chemistry styles, so an improvement on that would be immense.
Elye Wahi (OVR 86)
Montpellier is sitting comfortably in mid-table and managed to navigate four matches in March without losing.
Elye Wahi could be set for his first special card of the FUT 23 campaign, after providing goal involvements in all four games, scoring four and assisting one.
In three of those his input proved vital in picking up points, scoring one in a 1-0 win, two in a 2-1 win, and then getting the assist in a 1-1 draw against then-second-placed Marseille.
Folarin Balogun (OVR 86)
Sorry Arsenal fans, but it looks like the Ligue 1 Player of the Month will be a two-horse race, with the on-loan Folarin Balogun the least likely of the trio to win.
He managed two goals in three matches, with Stade Reims winning two and only losing to Marseille.
They managed to beat third-placed Monaco, where Balogun scored the only goal of the game but then followed that up with their only league loss of the year.
