FIFA 23 Juventus Career Mode Guide: Starting Lineup, Who to Sign & more

Juventus has been on the decline in recent years, so if you choose to take over the club in FIFA 23 Career Mode you will need to restore the club to greatness.

They definitely have the players there to do it, however, it will mean developing many of the youngsters and being proactive in the transfer market.

Put your management skills to the test and see if you have what it takes to rejuvenate The Old Lady in FIFA 23.

Team Rating

Juventus has a four-and-a-half star rating in FIFA 23.

The breakdown of the ratings is as follows: ATT 84, MID 81, DEF 81.

Starting Lineup and Formation

Juventus line up as a 4-3-3 Holding, and although you can start all of their best players if you switch to a 3-4-3, it leaves you very short on wide players to rotate in.

For this reason, we're keeping the 4-3-3, which can utilise the midfield depth the squad has in FIFA 23.

The front three has Dusan Vlahovic in the centre, with Federico Chiesa to his right and Filip Kostic on the left, to swing in crosses to the big man.

Weston McKennie and Paul Pogba are our first-choice CMs, both offering great physicality, as well as skill on the ball.

We've put Pogba as the LCM, as his low defensive work rate will be covered by Kostic's high one.

Behind them, we have Manuel Locatelli at CDM, who gives better physicality and defensive cover than Leandro Parades.

The back line picks itself, with Juan Cuadrado, Leonardo Bonucci, Bremer and Alex Sandro protecting top-class goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

This leaves us with a bench that has decent options all over the pitch, with Daniele Rugani, Danilo, Parades, Adrien Rabiot, Angel Di Maria, and Moise Kean all quality players, and Marley Ake included for a burst of raw pace.

Tactics and Instructions

Juventus' tactics are very balanced, and we will keep them this way, as it allows us to switch up the play depending on the game.

Their defensive style is set to Pressure On Heavy Touch, which will keep the shape while waiting for the right time to pounce.

The depth is on the lower side, but this will allow the pacey wingers to get in behind if the chance arises.

We have switched both the wingers to Stay Wide and Get Into The Box For Cross, so we keep some width in attack while also getting an extra player into the area when needed.

Chiesa is told to Stay Forward, leaving us with a pacey outlet to start counterattacks.

The midfield three are all told to Cover Center, with Pogba on Get Forward, and Locatelli staying as a Deep Lying Playmaker.

Both full-backs are on Overlap, but with Balanced Attack, so will only make forward runs occasionally.

Development Plans

There is only one player in need of a position change in the side and that is Filip Kostic.

Develop him into a LW so he can perform at his best in that position.

Training

Juve has some great talent in the squad in FIFA 23, with a few starters that will keep getting better, so make sure you get Vlahovic (POT 91), Chiesa (POT 90), Bremer (POT 87) and McKennie (POT 85) on the training ground.

Then there are some future stars in the side, so don't forget about Fabio Miretti (POT 87), Nicolo Fagioli (POT 85), Matias Soule (POT 85), Kaio Jorge (POT 82), Federico Gatti (POT 81), Giovanni Garofani (POT 81) and Felix Correia (POT 80).

Starting budget: £149 million

Who should go?

You don't have a massive squad to play with in FIFA 23 so make sure you bring in replacements for those you get rid of.

Unfortunately, there aren't many players you can make big money from, as you want to keep your promising youngsters and your other top players are quite old.

However, feel free to get rid of Di Maria, Alex Sandro, Rabiot, Danilo, Mattia Perin, Rugani and Mattia De Sciglio, which could bring in around £110 million.

You can also sell Cosimo Da Graca, Ake and Carlo Pinsoglio, as they won't become rated above 80 OVR.

Loans

Look to loan out Soule, Garofani, Feliz Correia and possibly Kai Jorge this season, and you could send out a couple more of the young midfielders next season if you feel you have the backup in the side.

Juventus has quite a few players out on loan, and it could be worth recalling Dejan Kulusevski (POT 87) and Denis Zakaria (POT 86) early if you feel in need of their services, as they are both quality players.

This could also be the case for Arthur, or you could recall him, then sell him, as he has an 82 POT.

Of the other players out on loan, keep an eye on Nicolo Rovella (POT 88), Radu Dragusin (POT 83), Mohamed Ihattaren (POT 83), Luca Pellegrini (POT 82) and Andrea Cambiaso (POT 82).

All the others will not get a potential greater than 80 OVR, so can be sold upon their return.

It should also be noted that Kean, Locatelli, Parades and Arkadiusz Milik are on loan with the club, so bear that in mind when making signings and selling players.

Who to sign?

Another winger will be near the top of your wishlist, as Di Maria isn't the best to bring off the bench as he lacks pace, so won't have as big an impact.

If you decide to sell him then you will need to invest in two wingers, however, they don't need to be superstars or even future stars, just decent players that can be rotated in or come off the bench.

Then there are choices to be made about both full-backs, with better quality needed, but do you invest in first-team quality now, or train someone up?

This will come down to who you have sold, how much you've managed to bank, and how you want to play things.

We would go for first-team quality at LB, with a couple of youngsters out on loan who can become useful back-ups, and a future star at RB, with Cuadrado likely to go strong for another couple of seasons.

A couple of decent CBs are also needed, as Bonucci is at the end of his career, leaving you with only Bremer as a quality option in that position.

If you have any budget left over, then investing in a backup striker for when Kean leaves would be a good use of it.

Board Expectations

Winning is important to the board at Juventus, however, they are not unrealistic in wanting every trophy available.

Domestic Success and Continental Success are both of critical priority, needing to win Serie A, but only having to get to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The other critical priority is Brand Exposure, and we were tasked with signing two players of the same nationality as the club and getting 20 wins in the league on our save.

Youth Development is of medium importance and we were tasked with Short Term and Long Term targets, however, both should be easily completed as part of your general running of the club.

Short Term we needed to sign a defender to the Youth Academy, and Long Term (within two seasons) we were required to have two players from the Youth Academy signed in the first season play at least 30% of the games in the next season.

Of low priority is the Financial target, where we needed to make a £2,600,000 profit from youth player sales within two seasons.
