FIFA 23: FIVE things we want to see revealed at Summer Game Fest

FIFA 23 promises to bring a host of new changes to the franchise, with EA Sports taking one last spin with the FIFA series.

With new feature and gameplay reveals all set to arrive over the coming months, what could we see in the upcoming FIFA 23 reveal at Summer Game Fest?

With a recent leak suggesting more information regarding FIFA 23 is arriving on June 9, we want to take a look at five things we're hoping to see.

FIFA 23 Summer Game Fest

A recent leak has suggested that more official information regarding FIFA 23 will land on June 9, a period in which the annual games showcase Summer Game Fest is taking place.

With that in mind, here are five things we're hoping to see during the big reveal.

Gameplay

A cinematic trailer is highly likely, but we desperately want to see some new gameplay incorporated into that.

A BRAND NEW LOOK - FIFA 23 could take things to the next level

In the past, cinematic trailers have offered little more than temporary hype, but a brief look at some of the brand new gameplay would be sure to set pulses racing.

With next-generation hardware opening the door to bigger and better FIFA games, we're hoping EA push the boat out and give us a glimpse at what is arriving later this year.

New Feature Showcase

FIFA usually lead these reveals with a focus on a brand new feature, something that can get fans truly excited about the next instalment.

From VOLTA, The Journey and the arrival of the Champions League, we've seen plenty of glow ups from FIFA in previous years.

Could expanded licenses be at the heart of this year's game? Or will Summer Game Fest leave us asking more questions?

Either way, we're hoping that some indication is given as to what FIFA 23 will be centred around.

World Cup Content

Speaking of special features in FIFA 23, the World Cup is certainly something that will feature heavily in the new game.

With World Cup content confirmed to arrive in FIFA 23, could the showcase give us some insight into how prominently the tournament will feature?

IT'S COMING HOME - We're all gong to the World Cup in FIFA 23

There will no doubt be implementation in both VOLTA and Ultimate Team, but we'd love to see more regarding the World Cup mode itself, maybe even a nod to tournaments of the past.

Either way, with the World Cup set to be a big string to the bow of FIFA 23, we feel it would be a real missed opportunity if EA didn't give us a glimpse of what's to come.

Cover Star

If it is to be a cinematic trailer with little deep-dive into new features or gameplay, at least we'll get a look at our cover star.

Likely to be Kylian Mbappe - despite his big-money move to Real Madrid collapsing - the Frenchman will almost certainly be seen doing some tricks and flicks if a teaser trailer is to be revealed.

CERTIFIED MEGA STAR - Mbappe could feature on the cover of FIFA 23

Could EA throw a curve ball and re-introduce previous covers that saw different players feature based on the country the game was released in?

We'd like to see something different this year, providing a vibrant and exciting cover that celebrates the end of an era.

Ratings

Rating season is always one of the most exciting in the lead up to any FIFA, and this year's game is no different.

With question marks over the top-rated star - following the slowing down of both Messi and Ronaldo - fans will be excited to see who will be the GOAT in FIFA 23.

If we were making predictions, we'd say there's a good chance potential cover star Kylian Mbappe will top the pile.

Regardless of what's shown, we hope that EA Sports can land a knock-out blow, carrying much-needed momentum into the 2023 release of EA Sports FC.
