It's fair to say the FIFA 23 community has had enough of the useless World Cup Player Items clogging up their Ultimate Team clubs.
Well, when the day finally came for those pesky Player Items to be removed, yet another EA mishap came to fruition...
Unwanted items
EA had previously stated that the World Cup Player Items would expire on Wednesday, 4 January 2023 at precisely 1pm ET / 6pm GMT.
The FUT community took to social media forums to express their excitement for the imminent removal of the pesky Player Items ahead of time.
However, when players logged on at 6 o'clock on Wednesday night, nothing had changed...
The annoying World Cup Player Items are STILL in everybody's Ultimate Team clubs. But why?
Perhaps EA has literally just forgotten to remove the Player Items? Whatever the reason, the FUT community is NOT happy about it.
EA has since come out with a statement explaining that the removal process of all World Cup Player Items will take up to three days.
FUT community fuming
Ahead of the World Cup campaign, FUT players couldn't have been more excited to see what EA had in store, but it never really lived up to expectations.
FUT players' frustrations at the underwhelming promo content were heightened by the pointless World Cup Player Items clogging up their clubs.
Once you had achieved the six wins that were required to complete the World Cup Swaps Objectives, they became completely and utterly useless.
All they do is make sifting through the players in your club more difficult.
The community had been patiently waiting for the Player Items to be removed for weeks on end.
To find out that EA had forgotten to take the items out of the game has caused quite a stir, to say the least.
As you can see from the Tweet above, some players have resorted to spending hours quick selling each and every World Cup Player Item in their club.
