FIFA 23 is fast approaching, with news and rumours about the next game coming thick and fast.
The official FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition cover has already been revealed, and hot on its heels are the images for the Standard Editions.
Check out the two designs below, including an exclusive release.
Mbappe back for more
Once again, Kylian Mbappe has been given the power to reveal some exclusive FIFA content, this time showing off the FIFA 23 Standard Edition cover on his Instagram, featuring, well, him of course!
The Paris Saint-Germain striker once again sees himself making multiple covers for a FIFA release, after appearing on all three versions of FIFA 22.
However, the Frenchman doesn't have exclusive bragging rights this time around...
“I’m thrilled to have been picked to be on the cover of EA SPORTS FIFA for the 3rd time, and I’m even more excited to share a cover honouring women’s football with a great player like Sam Kerr,” said Kylian Mbappé.
“As a huge fan of the game, I'm excited for the final FIFA and can't wait to see you all on the pitch.”
New Ground
Sam Kerr made history when she became the first female athlete to feature on a global FIFA cover, as revealed when the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition art was displayed.
But she is going solo on a special Standard Edition, which will be released in Australia, New Zealand, and as an Amazon exclusive.
The inclusion of the Australia Women's National Team captain on multiple covers has led to speculation that the women's game will be much better catered to in FIFA 23.
EA had already confirmed that the Women's World Cup would be getting its own game mode, yet, after seeing Kerr in her Chelsea kit, we can't help but think this won't be the only addition of women's teams to the game!
“It’s an honour and a dream come true to be on the cover of FIFA 23.” said Sam Kerr.
“It’s been incredible to work with Kylian and the whole EA SPORTS team, and I can’t wait for fans to get their hands on a copy of the game”.
Generational talents
“Both Kylian and Sam are generational talents, and having them grace the covers of the final FIFA is a monumental moment not only for the franchise but for EA SPORTS as a whole,” said David Jackson, VP Brand, EA SPORTS FC.
“FIFA 23 is our most innovative and feature-packed title ever and we’re energized to have two of football’s greatest players share their love of the game with fans around the world.”
Double Trouble
Mbappe and Kerr appeared together on the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition cover, both being giants of the game.
The Frenchman featured on the front of all FIFA 22 covers and was rumoured to have signed a long-term deal with the developer, with many fans not surprised to see the PSG star feature on this year's Ultimate Edition cover.
Kerr becomes the first female player to feature on a FIFA cover, showcasing a huge step forward for the women's game.
With these two formidable forwards as the faces of FIFA 23, could we be looking at the two highest-rated players for the men's and women's modes?
