The Netherlands has a strong football tradition, but is yet to win a World Cup and last tasted European glory at Euro '88. That's a long time to wait despite the huge list of amazing players that have worn the Oranje since then.

Naturally then, the Netherlands is a hotbed of footballing talent in FIFA 23, with a lot of high-potential wonderkids. This article will look at the very best Netherlands players aged 19 and under when the FIFA 23 career mode starts.

Xavi Simons (OVR 78 - POT 88)

Team: PSV

Age: 19

Position: CAM, RW, LW

Xavi Simons may be Dutch, but he's a product of the impressive PSG academy. Like Christopher Nkunku and Kingsley Coman before him though, Simons left PSG to guarantee himself first team football and develop further. He arrived at PSV in 2022 and has already made his mark in the Eredivisie, quickly becoming one of the most impressive starlets in world football.

In FIFA 23 Simons is right up there with Pedri and Gavi as one of the best Wonderkid CAMs in Career Mode. He's capable on either wing too, thanks to his 88 acceleration and 85 sprint speed. That burst is best used in the middle though, to break lines and link play. His 83 ball control, 80 dribbling, 77 short passing, and 73 finishing makes him a quality player right away, and with 88 potential he is set to be a star.

Bjorn Meijer (OVR 72 - POT 86)

Team: Club Brugge

Age: 19

Position: CB, LB

Bjorn Meijer came up with Groningen, which has produced players like Arjen Robben, Daley Blind, and Luis Suarez. Meijer made his debut with them in 2021 before quickly moving to the Jupiler Pro League with Club Brugge in 2022 where he has quickly become part of the first team.

In FIFA 23, Meijer offers physicality and solidity at the back. He's already 6'3" & 89kg, and his 86 strength allows him to tussle with any striker. He's got 79 stamina, 74 jumping, and 73 heading accuracy to be a threat at corners as well.

Devyne Rensch (OVR 74 - POT 84)

Team: Ajax

Age: 19

Position: RB, LB

You knew it wouldn't take long before we got to an Ajax wonderkid. Devyne Rensch is just the latest of a long line of talented Dutch youngsters to come through the club. The fullback got his senior debut with Ajax in November 2020 and hasn't really looked back, getting his first cap for the Netherlands in September 2021.

Rensch isn't your typical blazing-fast fullback in FIFA 23. His 76 acceleration and 76 sprint speed are solid, but it's his 75 short passing, 73 ball control, and 73 standing tackle that impress. He could easily be transformed into a CDM as he develops.

Jorrel Hato (OVR 61 - POT 84)

Team: Ajax

Age: 16

Position: CB, LB

Another Jong Ajax player is the 16-year-old Jorrel Hato. The defender joined Ajax in 2018 having come up with his hometown club of Sparta Rotterdam first. Even though he's only 16 when FIFA 23 starts, he has already made his Ajax first-team debut.

Hato is a complete project in FIFA 23. His best stats are his 80 sprint speed, 77 acceleration, and 74 jumping but after that, there isn't much to write home about. That's to be expected from a 16-year-old, but the fact that he is already fast gives you a great platform to develop a quality player.

Bart Verbruggen (OVR 73 - POT 83)

Team: Anderlecht

Age: 19

Position: GK

Bart Verbruggen is the best Dutch wonderkid goalie at the moment. He came up with NAC Breda before moving to Anderlecht in 2020. The Beligan club is well-known for progressing talented young players and being a pipeline to European giants. He got his first-team debut with them in 2021.

Young goalkeepers are hard to trust, but in FIFA 23 Verbruggen is solid. He's got 76 reflexes, 75 diving, and 73 reactions. His 35 short passing is ok too.
