Arthur Vermeeren (68 OVR - 87 POT)

Team: Antwerp

Position: CDM, CM

Age: 17

You might not have heard of Arthur Vermeeren yet, but the 17-year-old from Antwerp is a star in the making for Belgium.

RIDE IT OUT - Vermeeren has big shoes to fill for the Belgian national side

Vermeeren starts FIFA 23 with 78 agility, 77 stamina, and 77 agility to provide a great base of development. His 74 short passing, 71 dribbling, and 71 ball control mean he can already dictate tempo and distribute the ball from the middle of the park.

His defensive attributes aren't great, with 68 interceptions and 64 standing tackle, but his medium/high work rate means he'll cover ground without the ball and his four-star weak foot will keep him moving the ball well.

Romeo Lavia (67 OVR - 86 POT)

Team: Southampton

Position: CDM

Age: 18

He is one of the best FIFA 23 wonderkid CDMs so of course Romeo Lavia makes our list. Southampton poached him from Manchester City, and while it looks bleak for them in the Premier League right now, Lavia's future is incredibly bright.

The 18-year-old defensive midfielder has 74 short passing and 72 ball control to start dictating tempo, and he brings 69 standing tackle and 68 sliding tackle which can be developed well to make him a bruiser at the base of your midfield.

Johan Bakayoko (69 OVR - 85 POT)

Team: PSV

Position: RW

Age: 19

AFTER BURNERS - Bakayoko can fly!

Johan Bakayoko is a rapid left-footed winger that is set to be a real threat in FIFA 23.

He starts Career Mode with 87 acceleration, 86 sprint speed, and 82 agility to absolutely fly past defenders. He's also got 74 dribbling and 72 ball control to make him a threat carrying the ball.

You can turn him into a classic winger by working on his crosses or improve his 64 finishing and turn him into the next great inside forward. He's got a high 85 POT so the sky is the limit here.

Luca Oyen (68 OVR - 85 POT)

Team: Genk

Position: LM, CAM

Age: 19

Next up is Genk's attacker Luca Oyen. The 19-year-old CAM/winger is another creative dribbler that can lead another Golden Generation for Belgium.

The versatile forward can operate in the central attacking midfielder (CAM), or 'number 10' position, and on both wings, but he is right-footed with a three-star weak foot so be careful what you ask him to do out wide.

In FIFA 23 Oyen already has good movement with 82 acceleration, 82 agility, and 81 balance. He's also got 73 dribbling and 72 ball control to be a great carry threat, but his passing needs a bit of work with just 67 short passing when Career Mode starts.

Mika Godts (OVR 64 - POT 85)

Team: Ajax

Position: LW

Age: 17

MAGIC MIKA - Godts will torment defenders with the right development

Belgium is spoilt for choice when it comes to wide players, as Mika Godts adds another young option on both the left and right flank. Being at Ajax should see him develop quickly.

The 17-year-old winger already has good movement with 83 balance, 79 acceleration, and 79 agility. His 74 dribbling is his best start, but his passing is well short of a creative winger (63 short passing) so that will need work along with his 56 crossing.

EA Sports FC

EA has put the final nail in the coffin of their relationship with FIFA by formally announcing EA Sports FC. The rebrand of the annual football game comes as the naming license deal with FIFA expires. The price demanded by the football governing body was deemed too high by EA, and so we have a split between the game and its iconic title.

Given just how profitable EA's annual football release is it was no surprise that they would still go ahead with a game, and so we have EA Sports FC. Announced earlier than fans are used to, there is hope that we could get the new game in August, just as the new season kicks off around Europe.

NEW, BUT THE SAME - Don't expect radical gameplay changes from EA Sports FC

FIFA isn't taking this loss of earnings lying down though. President Gianni Infantino has said they will be putting their name to a game, claiming that FIFA 25 will be "the best e-game". The expectation is that FIFA partners with 2K, EA's great rival in the sporting scene, to release a new game, but it won't be easy to knock EA down.
