Official Nominees Revealed
Defenders are in the spotlight this month, with four of the Bundesliga Player of the Month nominees playing at the back.
After a brilliant title charge which has seen Borussia Dortmund get level on points with Bayern Munich at the top of the table, they have three representatives on the list!
The following players have been nominated for the Bundesliga's February Player of the Month award:
- Julian Brandt
- Alphonso Davies
- Nico Schlotterbeck
- Borna Sosa
- Rafael Guerreiro
- Lee Jae Sung
Make sure to have your say by voting for your favourite nominee via this link.
Julian Brandt (OVR 89)
Borussia Dortmund is on a stunning run in the Bundesliga, winning every game in the league since it resumed after the World Cup break and is now level on points with Bayern Munich at the top.
Julian Brandt has been in fine form during that run and is in a strong position to get back-to-back POTM awards in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team!
He scored a goal per game during February, doubling his league tally for the season to eight.
Alphonso Davies (OVR 87)
Drawing all their matches in January meant Bayern Munich lost their healthy lead at the top of the table, but they turned things around in February, winning three out of four.
Flying full-back Alphonso Davies hasn't contributed massively so far this season, but he did pop up with three assists in the month.
Unfortunately, two of them came in a 3-2 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach, where the side wasn't helped by Dayot Upamecano's red card in the 8th minute!
Nico Schlotterbeck (OVR 87)
Another from Dortmund's in-form side, Nico Schlotterbeck has been an awesome signing for the team, giving FIFA 23 Ultimate Team players a top Ones to Watch item.
He helped keep two clean sheets in February, but also chipped in with a goal and an assist.
His goal involvements as a centre-back are pretty impressive and he has now bagged three goals and provided five assists in the league!
Borna Sosa (OVR 87)
It was a decent month personally for Borna Sosa, but the same can't be said for his VfB Stuttgart side.
After coming back from injury, the left-back managed to get a goal in his first start, and then provided an assist in the following two games.
However, the club only managed to get one win (the first since restarting after the World Cup), with losses in the other three games seeing them joint-bottom of the table on 19 points.
Rafael Guerreiro (OVR 88)
The third and final Borussia Dortmund player nominated, Rafael Guerreiro was left on the bench for one of the matches in February but played the full 90 in the other three, including both clean sheets.
In the 5-1 demolition of Freiburg, he provided three assists!
That was followed up with another assist in the following win against Weder Bremen.
Lee Jae Sung (OVR 88)
We think it's a two-horse race for the Bundesliga POTM, with Brandt one contender and Lee Jae Sung the other eyeing up a boosted card in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.
The attacking midfielder had a great February, scoring three and providing two assists.
After losing 2-1 to high-flying Union Berling, Mainz won the next three, with goal involvements from Lee Jae Sung proving vital to claiming points in two of them.
