FIFA 22 TOTY: When will the Team of the Year 12th Man be released in FUT?

The Team of the Year (TOTY) promo is in full swing in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, with daily content now coming thick and fast!

One final TOTY spot remains unfilled, with the 12th Man set to be revealed very soon.

So, find out when the TOTY 12th Man will be released in FUT 22 here.

What is the 12th Player?

With limited space available in the Ultimate XI, EA introduced the 12th Player to Team of the Year to reward someone who is just as deserving to gain an incredible card, if there was just that little extra room.

Last year, Lionel Messi picked up the spot, with EA saying:

He was close to making the ultimate XI, but your votes made sure Lionel Messi is recognised for his incredible year as the TOTY 12th Player!

TOTY 12th Man Release Date

The 12th Man will likely be released on Friday, 28 January, alongside the release of the entire TOTY squad into packs, though this date is not yet officially confirmed.

EA will release the 12th Man at approximately 1pm ET / 6pm GMT on the day of release.

TOTY 12th Man shortlist

The ever-reliable @FutSheriff and @fifa_romania have leaked the players who will be included in the 12th Man vote.

It appears that the 12th Player vote will be split between the following three players:

  • Cristiano Ronaldo
  • Mohamed Salah
  • Karim Benzema

With it left up to a public vote again, it could be very likely that Salah will miss out on a TOTY inclusion, with many players picking CR7 instead as he would have a beast of a card.
